Behold, I long for Your precepts; revive me in Your righteousness.  Psalm 119.40

Many times, a Christian is almost defeated by temptations. However, if he desires the Lord’s precepts, he will ask for his revival. Of course, we should not allow the devil’s lies – or the temptations – to persuade us. Those who have been captivated by them are living in the world of passions, where right is wrong and wrong is right, and the failures become virtues. Then, only God is able to drive them out of this trap.

The Lord’s commandments bother those who are in sin, but make the righteous rejoice and fulfill the divine will. What kind of person are you? After the temptation, how do you feel? Do you feel accomplished, or in a profound sorrow? Those who let themselves be convinced by the Holy Spirit are marked by God, for the simple desire to observe His orientations is already the proof that they seek change.

Even if a person falls in sin, if he wants to know and fulfill the Lord’s orders, he will be able to cry out to Him and be revived by His righteousness. Now, sin is something serious, because after a person dies, he cannot repent any longer, and then comes eternal judgment. Therefore, those who have understanding must seek forgiveness, reconciliation, and restitution with the Father.

If you desire the divine precepts, you are already guaranteed before God, and that is due to the will of changing. A person may be weak because of sinful thoughts; however, the fact that he wants to follow the Lord makes Him come into action and give this person a new strength. Thus, the anointing that breaks any yoke comes upon this person (Is 10.27). Afterwards, the righteousness of God revives this person for battle and delivers him completely.

Although you may be far away from the Almighty, wait for His help. If your heart desires the divine precepts, even if you do not obey all of them, you will have an opportunity to regain communion with Him. However, this cannot serve as a cause for you to fall in sin again; on the contrary, get rid of the temptations and do not be under the authority of the evil one any longer.

The Apostle Paul wrote about this on his letter to the Romans, saying that to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness (Rm 4.5). However, undoubtedly, it is better to practice your faith in Jesus, for with it, you will escape the eternal condemnation and will also be prepared and qualified to be besides Him for all eternity. The world fades, but he who does the will of the Lord remains.

The divine justice is competent enough to make you revive. Therefore, get involved with Him, though you may feel that you are not well. If you fall, remember that He justifies the wicked, and then, your faith will be counted as righteousness – something that you will have done right (Rm 4.5). God will justify you. Is there a better time than now to get things right with Him? Do you want to?

In Christ, with love,

Lord, our Righteousness! Create in us a desire to know Your precepts and obey them, for we don’t want to be under the enemy’s dominion. Even if our flesh refuses to follow You, we must have an honest desire in our hearts.

Show us the way out, so that we may never be submitted to the devil’s yoke. We will put ourselves under Your promises and will see Your reviving power operating in us.

Your righteousness needs to act in our lives, for we have not yet been completely transformed. Therefore, many times, we have crises and temptations which make our minds accept them. Revive us again!
