11/07/2017 - A GREAT GULF

And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us. Luke 16.26

In the parable of the rich man and Lazarus, Jesus teaches many precious and important lessons, which will be very helpful if we understand them. What is good about this is that the Holy Spirit is always ready to teach us what to do in any situation. If you don’t understand the Word, you will learn as much as a person that cannot read. When you understand Your rights as registered in the Bible, you become powerful.

The rich man became desperate when he saw himself in the flames of Hell, and recognizing Abraham, asked him to give him relief, including with the leper’s finger soaked in water. However, the request was too late. Lazarus, the leper beggar who knew the Word, could have helped the rich man if he had sought him. He thought he was rich, but he was poorer than the beggar.

Probably, the rich man was religious, since he knew something about eternal life and that he would never leave that place. Many religious people and church members will be desperate when they receive their condemnation, because they do not want to get things right now. Those who enjoy a life full of luxury, doing as they desire, do not want to seek the Lord in this life. Then, after death, they will not find Him.

Abraham’s reply brought a full stop to the rich man’s desire of finding relief from those flames. That man thought about his brothers, who would also have the same end. This shows that he had good feelings, but he did not put them into practice in life, when he could have led himself and his entire family to salvation. Unfortunately, he sought after other goals, and therefore, he lost himself. Check yourself to see if you are approved for eternity.

Abraham revealed to the rich man that there was a great gulf between them. This must be observed, because whomever is in the Kingdom of God will not be able to cross it and get to hell, not even to do good to someone who belatedly repented. On the other hand, whoever is in hell will not be able to move to the kingdom of happiness. Here and now is the time to decide where we will be for all eternity. If we are not saved, we will be lost forever.

It is necessary to listen to Moses, the prophets, and specially, the Lord Jesus. Or else, we will never reach Heaven. This is not a game! If you enter Hell, there will be no way of repenting or having relief from eternal suffering. The door is open, you just need to accept the divine offer and receive the power of becoming a child of God. Amen?

Separation will be permanent, as demonstrated by this parable told by Christ. It is probably based on a true fact, since the names of the characters were revealed. If you do not want to have an unpleasant surprise, accept Jesus now, so that you may not be left out on the Great Day.

In Christ, with love,

Lord! Why didn’t that man listen to Moses and the prophets to guarantee his entrance in Your Kingdom for all centuries? There are people acting in the same way today. When Jesus returns, they will be condemned to eternal punishment.

Those who are not taking seriously the salvation of their souls need to repent. It will be worthless to ask for help, from whomever it may be, if they despise Your Word, which is our true help. We pray that these people might be saved.

Help us to speak the Truth properly, sharing it with the lost, so that no one may be lost, for whomever is in sin is already dead. There is no way how someone can despise such a great offer that can bring complete change today. Amen!
