05/06/2014 - A PORTRAYAL OF THE LAST DAYS

Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand. Daniel 12.10

The desire for good things, comfort, wealth, and other ambitions is out of control. Everyone wants more, but as we have seen, many do not have any limits. Pleasure has become the aim of many people, regardless of the price to be paid, whether it is material or spiritual. Humanity is decided to fight for this cause. Still, there is no one that wakes up to announce that this world will soon have an end.

This is the battle between the forces of good and evil. We have never seen so much prosperity and variety of ideas as we see today. Prophet Daniel declared that one of the signs that the end of times was coming was that there would be an increase in knowledge and science (Daniel 12.4). This is already happening in our generation. Another sign has a spiritual emphasis: many shall be purified. We have seen the Word of the Lord being revealed like never before.

This is the work of the Spirit of God. Most people do not understand that this is the best part. The Lord Himself is sanctifying His people, taking away their own doctrines and making them understand the Truth. Inside the best churches, there are people losing themselves in songs, in weeping, and in what they consider to be the glory of God, but it is only pure emotion. God’s work is more serious than the show of human gifts. The Lord is whitening those who love Him.

If you have already been through many temptations, but have not fallen, rejoice, for you were being proved. What is good is that God did not let you fall! Those who fell should seek forgiveness. Everyone should be alert, for the work is not yet finished, and sooner than you think, there may come new trials. We should pray to be helped in times of trials. The Lord knows why He allows these things to happen.

The wicked go from bad to worse, for what matters for them is to satisfy the desires of their flesh. If they have “bread and circus” – food and entertainment – all is well for them. Now, it is good to stay far away from them, from their practices and results, for nothing that they do comes from the Lord! The Most High is raising people that are zealous for good works (Tt 2.14). Therefore, check what kind of attitude you are taking. Only those who know and keep the commandments are in the right way (Jo 14.21).

There will be no excuses for those who did not endure and fell. The Lord has already warned us that the flesh is weak and profits nothing (Jo 6.63). He gave us His Holy Spirit to strengthen us, to give us strength to face what is coming against humanity (Mk 14.38; Rm 8.26). The wicked fall for lack of knowledge of the Bible, but we have a sound doctrine, which will keep us standing. Look at the portrayal of the last days and find refuge in the Lord. What is the point of swimming, swimming, and dying in the shore?
