13/10/2015 - A sad example

As Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to sexual immorality and gone after strange flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.  Jude 1.7

The punishment of those who give themselves over to wrong will be shameful and eternal. It is no small number of people who will spend eternity in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur and will serve as an example that it is does not pay off to follow the inclinations that demons use to lead many to be disqualified to eternal life. May the Lord have mercy of those lives, which, as if they were drunk, they cannot see the imminent dangers around them.

Sodom and Gomorra had, up to the last minute, the opportunity of being saved. When Abraham was pleading for those cities, he had to stop asking after he asked if they could be spared if there were at least ten righteous people in those cities (Genesis 18.32). However, the God who does above all that we ask or think of (Ephesians 3.20) sent His angels to destroy that place. They took human shape, and sinners did not recognize them as messengers of salvation. Therefore the disobedient were destroyed.

Many, even though they have been enlightened, do not curve themselves before the Almighty. The Sodomites did not understand that they were there that day to see God, not to sin. There are also those who miss the time of the Lord’s visitation and so they will be condemned forever. They opened their eyes to evil and, for that reason, the angels of God had to blind them. May that never happen to you!

Immorality led them to disrespect the Word of God. The Creator would be responsible for man’s mistakes if he had not given them the ability of knowing right from wrong. He has recorded in Scriptures what we can and cannot do. We will be either condemned or justified by it. It is important to follow God’s instructions.

Impenitent sinners will be set as an eternal example of being disqualified. He who repents of his sins will be forgiven and received as a beloved son. When one is taught to be good, he will receive power to walk in righteousness. The Gospel completely fulfills men, freeing them from the hands of the devil and from suffering.

We need to be careful not to obey the devil that, at all cost, will try to lead you to damnation, where suffering will never end. A little rebellion will be enough to be disqualified. Do not look to anything that goes against the Word, because rebellion is a call from the devil for you to allow to be fooled by him and, so, lose yourself spiritually.

What do you want to have for all eternity? You are certainly saying: “Happiness”. However, if you do not do what is good, you will suffer in anguish. It is horrible to be in sin, because you get uncomfortable and your conscience accuses you day and night. Why remain in error?

In Christ, with love,

Lord, our fair Judge! May none of those who are reading this be like the people of Sodom and surrounding cities. You were patient, but they did not learn to know You and repent. I ask that you act with mercy towards those in similar situations!

Those people were sexually impure. That which you allowed within the wedlock is enough to satisfy all of us; however, there are those who advocate and follow demonic inclinations.

We do not want to be examples of bad workers, of people who do not see what You will do to those who do not respect You and allow themselves to be led by Satan's lies. Have mercy on them, because many even consider themselves to be Your servants. Help them, Father!
