Because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before the LORD when you heard what I spoke against this place and against its inhabitants, that they would become a desolation and a curse, and you tore your clothes and wept before Me, I also have heard you,” says the LORD. II Kings 22:19

The Lord’s words are not always sweet; sometimes they are spoken with the harshness of judgment that will be poured out upon the people of God. It is always good to give ear to what He says in order to avoid His wrath and avoid missing the blessings He declares to be ours. The Lord is ready to hear our prayers and meet our requests.

We cannot suppose we are saved from damnation if we are acting like the wicked and the lost. After getting believers to obey him, the devil tries to convince them that they are special and that the Lord will not rebuke them for their wrongdoings by saying that in their case God will overlook their errors.

The faithful servant is he who respects God’s Word and is neither swayed by the lies of the enemy nor gives him the pleasure of finishing his destructive work in his life! If Satan has already made you believe that you will not be punished for some transgression you might be practicing right now, enter into prayer at this very moment, open up your heart and repent before it is too late.

As soon as the young King Josiah heard the judgment that weighed over his people, his heart got tender. He felt the weight of what was about to happen to his nation and humbled himself before the Most High. There is nothing that pleases the Lord the most than seeing His people cry out for mercy because when they do so, whatever has been determined to occur with the holy people may be postponed or canceled. So follow the divine guidance.

You need to make a heartfelt decision, something decisive. Those who do not confess nor abandon their transgressions will never find favor with God. Some people are doing worse now than in the past when they committed some grave sin: they are lying by hiding what they did. This attitude is a victory of the enemy over their lives because they will never be recovered by repentance.

Tear off the clothes of your heart and weep before God. The way of sin is misleading because it makes you think you have the right to sin and to hide it in order not to embarrass yourself. Whoever confesses and leaves sin attains mercy.

In Christ with love,
