Do not give the devil a foothold.

Ephesians 4.27

As a good Father, the Lord would never ask us to do something that is not important. When you fulfill your mission, you will find that you have not only done your part in the Covenant, but also learned something that otherwise you would have never learned. Those who do not take heed to God’s commandments do not know how many lessons they are missing. His commandments are an exercise to strengthen our inner self.

This instruction from the Lord for us to never give the devil a foothold is of inestimable value. Because you were delivered from the kingdom of darkness, nothing from the devil is left in your life. Nevertheless, the devil, who can no longer enter your territory, will do everything he can to make you open a door to him. If you remain silent during a temptation and fail to expel the one sent by Satan, you will give him a foothold and do as he says.

So do not accept as normal any illness, sinful thought or forbidden desire. You are being watched by the spiritual world 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Jesus declared: But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart (Matthew 5.28). Examine yourself and see if there is anything wrong. Even if it seems small, get rid of it immediately!

There has to be at least one reason for things to go wrong in the lives of those who are members of the body of Christ. If there were not a cause, how can there be any effects? Paul instructed us to keep our minds occupied with good things: “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things” (Philippians 4.8 ). So do not be negative, filthy, nor act with prejudice towards others.

We can never be too careful! The Most High says that we must not allow the devil to enter our lives. If you feel weak in face of temptation, use your authority in Christ to subjugate it. The evil one is looking for a door or window to come into your life and make you one of his slaves. Do not help Satan. You have reached the highest position one can have in life, the position of servant of God. Do not dishonor he who accepted you as his child.

Make the decision to speak with the Lord about everything that happens in your life, even your deepest secrets. After all, he already knows everything. However, if you try to hide something, your fellowship with the Almighty will be jeopardized. You have a beautiful future ahead of you, because in Jesus you are an extension of God here and in eternity.
