A wholesome tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit. Proverbs 15.4

It is very important to have a wholesome tongue all the time. However, this is only possible when we speak according to the Word of the Lord. If our speech is not according to the divine written revelation and godly understanding, there will be no light in us, and we will never speak with boldness and power. When we speak according to the Truth, we feel peace and the divine force acting in us.

No one who is sent by the Lord can say anything different than what is in His Word. This is a trademark that distinguishes those He sends and those who only propose to do something for Him. Now, the Most High will always send someone to accomplish what pleases Him. Whoever desires to do something for the heavenly Father must seek faith, which will come to his heart if he hears the Scriptures (Rm 10.17).

The Lord Jesus knew about the power of words. So, in order that His words might produce the Father’s will, Jesus only spoke of what He heard. It is necessary to be careful in what we say, because we cannot make up something and wait for God to confirm our words. Now, those who do not speak according to what the Most High’s orders are not sent by Him. The Lord has no commitment to such people.

Paul guaranteed that the message that he preached was the Word of faith (Rm 10.8). The Apostle considered what the servants of God had written. By a divine order, they registered the Lord’s instructions, painting pictures of what was to come. Since he had been entrusted to spread the message of the Gospel, Paul knew that he had to preach the Word that generates Faith. This Word was the same that Christ ministered.

It is impossible to keep trying many times until we discover what the Lord wills. In His wisdom, He reveals it to the hearts of those who understand the Bible. Then, as a Christian is enlightened and understands the message to be delivered – with fear and trembling (Ep 6.5) – under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, he must be bold to accomplish what God has ordered.

The wholesome tongue does not add the thoughts of man, whether they are from others or from himself. As you minister the Word, when you expose what you think or desire, you do the same as the sons of Aaron. Nadab and Abihu brought a profane fire before the Lord, and thus, they were killed (Lv 10.1,2). Always have a wholesome tongue, and it will be a tree of life, from where you will collect the fruit that you need. 

Even if you are certain that someone who is listening to your sermon has done something wrong, do not let the enemy seduce you to include a message in the sermon that God has given you. If you do so the divine message will be tampered. If it happens, even if you proclaim the blessings, if there is perverseness, your spirit will be broken.
