On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come.  1 Corinthians 16.2

We have to honor the Lord as faithful stewards and recognize Him as He who gives us everything. The truth is that we don’t understand anything of the spiritual world but only what the Holy Spirit reveals to us in the Word. So we are not able to separate what is from evil from what is from God. There are those who think that what they have came from their sweat, but if the Lord hadn’t helped them, everything they have earned would have gone away.

On the other hand, what you have is yours and, if you don’t want to give anything to anyone, you can keep everything in your power. Not even the Most High will compel you to give something to His work, as little as it can be. However, He instructed the tithing and offerings for our own good. If we trust the Father and are faithful, we will see how much He will do for us and, then, we will prosper, which will make Him tremendously delighted.

Those who close their hand and don’t tithe, not listening to the divine voice in order to offer for the work of God, need to understand that the Lord doesn’t need anything they have. The fact of teaching us the truth about tithing and offerings is a proof of His love for us (Mal 3.10). Nevertheless, if we don’t give what belongs to Him, we won’t see His power acting on our behalf, and without divine help, the enemy will take away everything we got.

Nobody will prosper if there isn’t the blessing from the Most High. Someone can obtain material resource, but prosperity is having acquisitions and the capacity to use them, and this will happen with the one who has divine anointment on his life. When instructing us about tithing, offerings and other things to invest in His work, the Lord shows us the way to obstruct the enemy´s action, who tempts those who have more than the others.

Therefore, never blow the trumpet announcing you gave the tithe or your offer back, nor think the absurd that, if it weren’t for your offer, the work of God would have failed. Well, He who created the mineral wealth, plants and other things has the conditions to supply the necessities His work may have. He hasn’t lost the ability to create anything out of nothing.

God said that if He was hungry he wouldn’t tell us because the world and its fullness are His (Ps 50.12). The truth is, if He had any need, He wouldn’t be God. So, never let the demon of arrogance come into your heart and pollute it with lies. It is the divine mercy that fails not (Lam. 3.22) and allows us to use a little of what we have to take part in His work.

The faithfulness in fulfilling the commandment with joy makes it impossible for the enemy touch you and what belongs to you. On the other hand, refusing to be used by the Almighty opens a door for Satan to be able to break into your supply, send rust and moth to destroy your treasure. There is nothing better than being faithful to Whom will never be unfaithful.

In Christ, with love,

God of love and goodness! How good it is to understand Your will and, so, contribute to Your work. As a matter of fact, when You call us to be sowers, You give us the seed and, with it, we close the door to the enemy who, always, wishes to injury us.

When we tithe in Your house, we open our hearts to Your great works; then, our prosperity will be certain. Thus, You are delighted with our fortune and, at the same time, You close the door so that the opponent doesn’t touch us.

Thank you, Lord! With Your help we can invest in Your work and reap here and in the future. Your blessing makes rich and adds no sorrow with it. So, we can enjoy everything You gave us. It is always good to be a faithful steward.
