Because of the truth which abides in us and will be with us forever: Grace, mercy, and peace will be with you from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

II John 1:2-3

All things work together for good to those who love God (Romans 8:28). Those who are willing to know the commandments and strive to keep them are people who have grace, mercy and peace from the Father and His Son Jesus. The verse above also states that those blessings will be with us in truth and in love of God. These are small things that enable us to live in true communion with the Lord.

He who has the truth – the Word of God – has all that the Almighty can do for those who truly love Him. Even if an individual offers his own body as a burnt sacrifice to God but does not love Him nor keep His commandments, such sacrifice will be to no avail. On the other hand, he who fulfills what he is told manages to attain the divine favor.

The truth is not given to us only for a period of time; it is a gift that, like the others, will never be taken away from us. It was given to us to always be on our side. Once we have it, there will be no such thing as closed doors or evil that will not come out. As a matter of fact, no power of hell will be able to rise against us. Those who are of God always win because lies can never cope with the truth.

Those who have the divine power acting in their favor will never be defeated. However great the temptations that Christians might have to face, if they do not lose heart but confront evil in the Name of Jesus, they will overcome. God’s children wage war in the assurance of victory. In all situations, even those that are seemingly impossible to overcome, we must not let doubt find its way into our heart because we will always be victorious.

It is because of His divine mercy that God casts His eyes upon us and loves us. For this reason, we will never be rejected. Even if you have strayed too far, turn back now. Confess your wrongdoings to the Lord, including the intentions of your heart because He is faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness (I John 1:9). By believing in His Word and acting in the name of Jesus, you will never be defeated.

Finally, we have God’s peace as a guardian of our hearts (Philippians 4:7). With it, we find solution to our weaknesses, strength to fight against the onslaughts of the enemy and guidance in all matters of life. John reveals that we have it all from God the Father, and also the Lord Jesus. So why be afraid of the devil’s threats? By issuing an order in the name of Jesus, you will turn void all the operations of the wicked one!
