I have blotted out, like a thick cloud, your transgressions, and like a cloud, your sins. Return to Me, for I have redeemed you. Isaiah 44.22

There is nothing sadder in the life of a son of God than falling in sin, may it be big or small. The sadness that invades the heart, together with the absence of communion with God, the lack of willingness to pray, and the weakness to resist against the attacks of the evil one make the saved one feel like the worst person. This is the work of the Holy Spirit so that the Christian may repent and be forgiven.

There is only one remedy for those who let themselves fall in mistakes: to seek those they have harmed or dishonored, and confess their repentance. If the person who offended someone passes away, even if he cried for years before God, he will not have the eternal happiness that waits for those who obey the Master’s directions. While we are on our way, we must get rid of our adversary, so that we may not be put in prison (Lk 12.58).

On the other hand, when someone who defrauded, dishonored, or sinned against another goes to the Lord’s feet, asks for repentance, and confesses his mistake, he obtains mercy. Then, his sins are forgiven and they no longer exist. Being so, the one who had sinned returns to have communion with the Father, his conscience stays in peace, and he can live again as he had never done anything wrong.

The devil is a master in making forgiven people his best fishermen. What is even worse: some people enjoy this. With their fishing rod and rusty hook, they manage to rescue sins that had been thrown in the depths of the sea a long time ago (Mi 7.19). Now, those who are forgiven are called to be fishermen of lost souls, and not of sins that were blotted away from God’s mind.

Pay attention to what the Lord says. According to prophet Isaiah, when you offer the conditions, the Most High undoes your transgressions like a cloud. Is there a specialist somewhere that is able to recreate a cloud that the sun has dissipated? Of course not, for it disappeared never to come back again. That is how the Lord deals with your iniquities. When He forgives and purifies you, your sin will never again be on His memory.

The Father will not remember our sins. He promised to blot them away like the cloud disappears. In other words, the Lord is instructing you not to accept the enemy’s suggestion that there is no more way for you. If you follow these orientations and leave your sins, not even the Father will bring them back, for just as the clouds disappear, so do your sins.

The Lord advises: Return to Me, for I have redeemed you. This is the secret that many people must learn, for although they are saved, forgiven, and anointed, they keep doing what their mind tells them to do. Accept the invitation, for He has made everything right.

In Christ, with love,
