That Your beloved may be delivered, Save with Your right hand, and hear me. Psalm 60.5

David knew that in his days it wasn’t enough to strive to fulfill the commandments, because due to Adam´s sin, the devil ruled over the world. Even if someone practiced the Word – and therefore, was loved by God – , this person was still not truly saved, for they remained under the condemnation of the error of our first father. Today, with the work done by Jesus to rescue us, the situation has changed. 

The psalmist was used to pray so that salvation was worked with divine´s right hand. The Lord longed for a complete salvation; thus, the fallen man would be rescued. It was prepared in such a way in order to execute the Almighty´s vengeance when the day arrived. The devil did not understand how this would be done. When Christ died on the cross, the enemy thought that he would have Him in his hands forever, but he was completely mistaken. 

Before saving us with His right hand, the Omnipotent could not hear His people, for our sins covered His face (Isaiah 59:2). However, Jesus´ redeeming work removed our errors and made our prayers reach Him. Those who don’t cry out, who don’t speak to the Lord about what is going on, about their dreams or their difficulties, surely miss out a lot, for the way to the Father is open.

David asked that this would be done in favor of the loved ones of the Most High  - those that have the commandments and keep them (John 14:21). During the days of the king, the person could only have her requests answered if she followed all requisites of the Law. Today, God´s servants begin to enjoy the blessings that were provided as soon as they learn what belongs to them in Christ. 

With the birth of Jesus and His work of atonement done for all mankind, our deliverance has arrived. When the Lamb of God came close to the Calvary, He said that the prince of this world would be cast out (John 12:31). Now, the devil no longer has any power over those who are saved nor can he prevail in his onslaughts against the chosen ones of the Lord. We were made sovereign for our Father, in order to reign in life (Romans 5:17). 

Jesus marched to the cross like a true warrior, who does not fear the enemy. Christ knew that sin and other sufferings of mankind would fall upon Him, but even so, He did not give up. Now, the devil cannot place his evils on us, for we were completely set free of his actions. Therefore, stand firm and cast out all evil that might be upon you. 

Today, the prayer of the beloved king was fulfilled. Therefore, do not submit yourself to the lies of the evil one. Make good use of the fact that you have become aware of the work Jesus accomplished in your favor and be delivered. The devil can no longer oppress you, for you are more than a conqueror in Christ. So, live and enjoy your freedom!
