17/02/2015 - ARE YOU A FOOL?

Wisdom is in the sight of him who has understanding, but the eyes of a fool are on the ends of the earth.  Proverbs 17.24

When you look at someone who walks with God, you quickly notice his holiness. It is so because the Lord said that we can trust in Him – He does us no evil and also has something to give to us. However, when we see a Christian that is out of tune with the heavenly Father, captive to some kind of sin, even if he attempts to hide his transgression, we can notice that something is wrong. The testimony that the Lord gives us about this person is always trustworthy.

There is no way how someone with the seed of mistake can hide from he who has communion with the Spirit of God, for He is not deceived and does not let us be deceived (Dn 2.22). Therefore, we feel that there is something wrong. The saved notice when someone is under the influence of the enemy, because just as holiness makes us exhale the perfume of Christ (2 Co 2.15), sin also exhales something with a terrible smell.

This verse talks about the eyes of the fool, he who does not care about observing what is evil, following the temptations, and losing his salvation. He who is taken by madness is interested in the extreme things on earth. For him, there is nothing wrong in seeing, studying and proving what the people that lost themselves do. It is better, however, to observe what the Lord says and not to submit to what brings losses.

A fool is someone who has already been enlightened, but when he sees news about someone who was photographed with little clothes or was naked in a website, he immediately checks it. If he knows about two girls or two guys kissing one another, he quickly opens the page to see it. He does not notice that a spirit of madness is surrounding him, and in little time, he will not matter to act in such a way any longer.

It happens in a similar way with drugs, prostitution or dishonesty. However, why does someone allow himself to live with such a practice if there is no condemnation or oppression by the evil one to him who lives in holiness with Jesus (Rm 8.1)? The Lord asked if, when He returned, He would find faith on earth (Lk 18.8). This must serve as an alert so that such foolishness might not take hold of you and influence you, for if it does, you will be condemned.

The Lord allows this foolishness to take over the life of a saved one, because this person despises His Word. Read Deuteronomy 28.15 and you will be able to verify this affirmation. On verse 28 of the same chapter, the Most High says that, with His permission, the state of spiritual alienation will be the lord of him who despises the Lord. In fact, if someone despises the voice of the Pastor, he is already contaminated by foolishness.

If you seek to live well, protected by the Lord and not being led by the enemy’s lies, flee from the ends of the earth. You will not be considered innocent if you do not watch and pray so that you do not fall into temptation. Nobody can be exempt from the responsibility of his own acts, for every one chooses to put or not his eyes on the extreme things.

In Christ, with love,

Eternal Father! When You saved us, You gave us the virtue of not falling in temptation or letting ourselves be led by the lies of the enemy. Therefore, we must watch so that we do not fall in foolishness, where wrong is accepted as right, evil as good.

Your Word teaches us to look to the Author and Consummator of our faith. While we have our eyes on Him, we will not be taken by the spirit of foolishness. However, we must recognize that many of our brethren have already been taken by it and walk towards eternal death.

Nothing compares to the pleasure of walking in Your presence, living in holiness. However, since some have surrendered to drugs, prostitution, lust, luxury, and debauchery, now they are held captive by these practices. Keep us in Your hands and under Your holy and unfailing protection.
