Show me a sign for good, that those who hate me may see it and be ashamed, because You, Lord, have helped me and comforted me. Psalm 86.17

Many times, a person sins and is considered forever as someone evil, like “plague” that must be eradicated. Even after confessing to the person that was offended and to the Lord, thus obtaining forgiveness, many people keep looking at this person with judgment and distrust. Now, if forgiveness was obtained, if this person will live in Heaven with Jesus and the saved ones, and if God himself has nothing against him, why such iniquity?

There are cases in which a person almost falls in sin, but is helped by the Lord, stands up and continues living in the divine presence. However, the society does not forgive and weighs heavily on this person, considering him as someone dangerous. Thus, whatever good this person does is discarded, even before it happens. What is the alternative for this person: accept this terrible and inhuman judgment or get rid of it?

David felt on his own skin what many people have felt, for he had a weakness that truly caused evil to someone. But who has never fallen? In some cases, the sin was not even accomplished, only attempted. The religious people in Jesus’ time demanded that people would be stoned to death in some situations, and this has happened to many people today.

David asked the Lord for an act of favor from His part. This is a tip for those who are under a moral judgment from people that have no authority to judge, since they have also fallen many times as well. The difference between both is that in the second case, no one knows what happened, but God knows everything. For this reason, the best thing is to confess everything, freeing yourself completely from the hands of the enemy, and then, to ask the Lord to show you a sign of His goodness, so that your accusers are ashamed.

Everything is solved in the presence of God. He is not yet seated on the throne of judgment, but He will do so one day. Today, the Lord is your Lawyer and Intercessor, and wants to free you from the enemy’s traps. Therefore, make things right in all areas of your life, so that those who accuse you have nothing to say about you, since the Most High has justified you.

Therefore, as they see the divine sign, those who persecute you will be misled, and their conscience will scream, for yours was freed. In fact, they also need to find the Lord’s justification and make things right in their lives so that they do not suffer for all eternity. God is interested in seeking and saving everyone who has been led astray and became guilty. But in order for that to happen, it is necessary to ask Him for a sign for good, as did the psalmist.

Would it not be good for you to make things right with God, now that you have understood what God does to those who approach Him to receive His mercy? Should you not accept Jesus as your Savior and Lord? If you do so, He will give you a sign for good.
