And when Asa heard these words and the prophecy of Oded the prophet, he took courage, and removed the abominable idols from all the land of Judah and Benjamin and from the cities which he had taken in the mountains of Ephraim; and he restored the altar of the Lord that was before the vestibule of the Lord. 2 Chronicles 15:8

To give ear to the message sent by the Most High means to take a stand against what He condemns.  Those that listen to it but don’t understand it, without a doubt, do not consider the Lord as their God; however, since there is only one God, what they have as god is not who they need to rescue them when they are in need, but he is the author of the suffering that will come upon them.  This has nothing to do with any religion, but it has to do with an encounter with the Creator. 

Judah had deviated from the will of the Lord, and because of that, chaos had come upon his land. The same thing happens to the brethren who are taken by any sort of temptation; when they least expect it, they are already completely involved by the evil works. However, the question to be asked is: why does someone stop believing in the promises of God and starts to believe that somehow the evil one will not touch them? Now, without a doubt, the devil walks about us like a roaring lion, seeking who he may devour (1 Peter 5:8). 

Hanani gave the message just like the Almighty had determined, and then, God was able to speak to the heart of the king and the chosen people. When the prophet does not have the courage to say the truth, although he prays all the time to the Lord to bless the people, nothing will happen because only the knowledge of the Truth sets free (John 8:32). The Lord cannot work where there is no faith, and it comes by hearing and hearing of the Word (Romans 10:17). Hanani´s firmness provoked a change in king Asa. 

It was not easy for the king to remove the witchcraft that had expanded in Israel and was already contaminating the kingdom of Judah. When evil scatters, people get used to suffering, and even if the message is real, many of them will prefer to continue with their normal practices instead of turning back to the Lord and His precepts. The monarch was firm, and a revival was multiplied in Judah. Be steadfast in the Truth and you will help many people. 

The king commanded that all abominations were to be eradicated from his territory – Judah and Benjamin. See the errors in your conduct and rip them out by the root. Do this before it’s too late, because, even if you seek a place of repentance afterwards, you will not find it. Esau was profane: however, when he came to senses and sought forgiveness, he did not find it. 

When he extended the orders over the cities captured in the mountains of Ephraim, Asa did not stop; he saw that he had to renew the altar of the Omnipotent. How is your heart doing – the altar of the Lord? If the Lord´s presence doesn’t make any sense, pray until you do His will. 

Never do just a little bit of what the Word has touched you to do, for, either the Lord has everything, or He will not accept what you have “delivered”.
