11/08/2016 - BAD DECISION

But the Pharisees and lawyers rejected the will of God for themselves, not having been baptized by him.  Luke 7:30

In His wisdom, God chooses some amongst the saved to do something special in accordance to His will and bless them even more. However, as Jesus said, many will give the weirdest excuses not to obey His commands. When they say that they couldn’t go to the celebration prepared by the Lord – because they bought a yoke of oxen, or they got married, or any other reason -, they rejected such invitation.

Apparently, it was a decision with no importance to refuse to go through John´s baptism; after all, they liked him. The preaching of the son of Zacharias and Elizabeth was strong and made people confess their errors publicly. They knew that his ministry was legitimate. Now, to formalize the decision to be baptized was out of the question for them: thus, they confronted the Lord with such resolution.

When you know that God commanded you to do something ( for example, become a member of a church, invite the pastor to do a service at your work, give public testimony of your faith in Jesus, etc.), and you don’t do it, your attitude is an insult to the plan of the Most High and, therefore, to Himself. In His goodness, the Lord prepares us for great works, therefore it is not good to disappoint Him.

All people who heard the message of John the Baptist, along with tax collectors and other sinners and who were baptized by him justified God with their act. Examine your decisions, even if they are hidden, for, you might be justifying the Lord or condemning Him through them. Seek to answer the touches of the Holy Spirit, for the work of the Master must continue.

There are people who are exchanging the pleasure of “suffering” in the missionary fields for living amongst their own, along with people who are considered civilized. Later, when they realize that something unpleasant took place with a close relative, they will conclude that the missionary “suffering” would be the prevention and the unity of the family against the works of the devil and his demons. The Lord knows and has the best for those who obey Him.

The Most High sent that young man clothed with camel’s hair and with a leather belt around his waist, which ate locusts and wild honey, with a firm purpose. John the Baptist´s look perhaps was not too conventional, but he had a special word coming from the throne of God. Those who heard him prepared themselves to meet the Messiah and be saved. Now, those who listen to the messengers of God certainly prepare themselves to listen to the Almighty.

Accept the counsel of God, for He will not tell you anything bad. I didn’t go to Moscow to study Medicine when I heard the voice of the Lord calling me and, today, I consider that He gave me the very best. Justify the Most High by saying yes to what He commands you to do, for the world will pass, but those who do His will certainly remain.

In Christ, with love

Father, our Counselor! When we pay attention to what You tell us we are justifying You. Therefore, even if we didn’t understand Your plan for our life – which can completely go against what we think is good for us – with happiness, we say yes to Your commands.

We cannot be like the Pharisees and teachers of the Law, who despised Your good will, just to do what they thought was useful. May Your voice become Lord over our want. Wherever You wish to send us, we will go in Your Name.

Why despise the best, if we don’t know what the enemy might to do us, in case we are not in accordance to Your perfect purpose? Now, to fulfill what You command us will be a great joy that we must not trade for anything. Lord! Here we are! Amen!
