Go and gather the elders of Israel together, and say to them, ‘The Lord God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Jacob, appeared to me, saying, “I have surely visited you and seen what is done to you in Egypt. Exodus 3.16

Moses had many lessons to learn, and one of them was that he should not do the work by himself, although he had to listen only to the Lord. In our walk of faith, God will minister to us many lessons, for just as it happened with Moses, we cannot execute the work wrongly. The time that you spend in the presence of the Father will be very beneficial, because you will be able to prepare yourself for the great divine operations.

God’s plan has already been revealed as something amazing that will be concluded by Him, which is unlimited in love, grace, power, and other virtues. When the Most High speaks to someone, this person must wait for His orientations that will certainly come, so that they may not stumble in obstacles. The Lord is perfect with His plans, and as He chooses someone for a mission, He will guide them with wisdom. Amen?

If Moses had any doubt regarding the way that God operated, he overcame it, because God said clearly that He would make the children of Israel come up out of the affliction of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites, to a land flowing with milk and honey (v. 17). We must pay attention to the Lord’s words; if He speaks, it will be completely fulfilled. He only takes us away from a place to put us on a better one.

The Most High compared the Land of Promise to a place that flows with milk and honey – this means a land of pleasure, prosperity, and peace. Canaan was the symbol of the Gospel, the blessed Land. There is no way the devil can hinder us from living this joy, if we are in the true Promised Land. Therefore, if you are going through something difficult, if you have not prospered or found the solution to your problems, do not accept such a situation. God operates continually through the Gospel.

Moses and the elders were supposed to go to Pharaoh to say that the God of the Hebrews had met them and that he should let them go three days’ journey into the wilderness, that they may sacrifice to the Lord (v. 18). Since the Lord knew that the Egyptian monarch would not accept this proposal, He knew He would extend His hand and strike that people with His signs, because by doing so, Pharaoh would relent (v. 19, 20). If he had believed in Moses, God would have made the miracles something of great worth.

It was necessary for the Almighty to send the ten plagues upon that nation, so that Pharaoh would learn that those who do not accept with love would suffer to recognize that God is the Creator of all things. He is not like humans, but must be respected and recognized as the Creator. If the king were not evil in his heart, he would have submitted to the Lord and received his reward. Understand this: God did not create us to be anything, but to live happily next to Him.

The Egyptians were gentle to the Lord’s people, even though their leader wasn’t; therefore, the Hebrews did not leave that land empty-handed. They received the fair payment for all the years that they served Pharaoh as slaves. With the death of the firstborns, all the promises were fulfilled.

In Christ, with love,

God of promises! You know why we should do Your work as You have planned. Thus, if we follow Your orientations, we will be successful. We come to You with an open heart to learn what You have to teach us, for we do not want to do wrong.

You do not change Your plans. The same refers to everything that You have spoken, for every single word of Yours will be fulfilled. There is no way Satan can invade our lives or harm us, for everything that Your mouth has spoken concerning us will be fulfilled.

The Hebrews left with their hands full. After all, You promised that You would bring grace to Your people in the eyes of the Egyptians. However, now, You can lead us to victory, for we have received from Your spirit and can do all things through You, who helps and guides us. Thank You, Father!
