The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake them.  I will divide de spoils.  I will gorge my soul on them.  I will draw my sword and my hand will destroy them.  Exodus 15:9

Those who pay attention to temptations will be confounded because even knowing that God works in them and for them, they never awaken to the opportunity that He gives them.  After all, each trial is a golden opportunity to show if we learned our lessons or not.  Pharaoh lost his army and his life for worshipping false gods and not perceiving the bonds that tied him to the enemy.

In his spiritual blindness the Egyptian potentate didn’t understand the difference between the Lord and the devils that deceived him even after the divine hand ordained ten plagues on his country and shamed his idols.  There are many people who are lost and also miss their moment to meet the Truth, and therefore, fall into Satan’s lies.  Sadly we must recognize that there are saved sinners that allow themselves to be taken by the tempter too.

Why not believe in the Lord if only He is the Truth?  The devil deceives all the time and is evil in every sense.  During Judgment there will be no excuse for those who heard the Word, because by knowing Jesus, they know that He is the only Way.  Nevertheless, because they had wrong things in their life they did not want to open their hearts and preferred to walk blindly to eternal perdition. Sad, poor and unhappy choice!

Pharaoh thought it was sufficient to pursue and catch up to the children of Israel.  However, he didn’t realize that this was the most foolish thing he could do.  Since the Lord is perfect and most powerful, he certainly would not permit them to be seized and destroyed. Now the gods of Egypt were beings created by their imagination or by the demons themselves, but the Lord is the Creator of all things and therefore, All-Powerful.

Even having Egypt in his hands, Pharaoh looked at the plunder he could seize.  But what value would there be to the little that his former slaves possessed?  He should have been happy to allow people like him, humanly speaking, to walk towards freedom.  Now those who do not have the Spirit of God are capable of seeing, in the servant of the Lord, something that can bring them profit or pleasure.  In truth, Pharaoh should have seen God with them.

Pharaoh thought he could draw his sword and wound the seed of Abraham, but of what use would that small bit of steel be before the true sword of the Lord?  He didn’t count with the fact that God was with the Hebrews and would fight in their favor on that day or in any other situation.  Many people act like the king of Egypt and therefore, will suffer a sad ending.  Only those who serve the Most High know what victory is!

How could Pharaoh’s hand touch a single Israelite?  There is no sorcery that prevails against God’s people, (Numbers 23:23) no decision from Hell nor any divination from the enemy either.  The Father promised to protect us from all evil; so, even though everything points against there being any salvation for you, turn to the Most High.  Those who believe what He says will never be put to shame.

In Christ, with love,

Lord!  It is good to know you take care of those who are part of Your Kingdom.  Even though the Hebrews had not weapons to face the Pharaoh and his army, they would be protected by You because they were Yours.

Pharaoh didn’t realize he was falling into a trap where he would be destroyed.  He though that the Israelites had been trapped into a dead end; but because he didn’t know You, he didn’t know that You were - and are - the only way out for Your people.

Not one hair of your people was touched by the governor of evil.  He couldn’t even draw his sword to destroy Your seed.  Thank you for keeping us in Your hand; this way, we will never fall captive to the enemy. Amen!
