I will be glad and rejoice in Your mercy, for You have considered my trouble; You have known my soul in adversities, and have not shut me up into the hand of the enemy; You have set my feet in a wide place. Psalm 31.7,8

As the psalmist understood what God had done for him, he declared that he would be glad and rejoice in the Lord’s mercy – His good hope. In fact, what happened to the psalmist also happened with us. Our affliction was enormous, with no possibility of change in our situation. Then, the Most High stretched out His hand and freed us from the spiritual prison.

David’s declaration symbolizes the situation in which humanity was in. Nowadays, man has more in God than before. We have been freed of inferiority and of submission from the enslaving yoke of Satan. The Most High knew our soul and its sorrow, and for that reason, we cannot allow anything from the past to return, for we have already been set free.

The fact that the Father considers the trouble that we are in means that He will help us overcome it. The Lord saw that it would not be good for man to live under satanic oppression, so He entered in action and took away everything that bound us to the enemy (Gl 5.1). He who listens to the Gospel and believes in it is freed of all his bonds. The soul of the person who is freed by faith in Jesus is completely restored.

The Almighty does not act like a bad friend, who is only at our side in good times. He has the pleasure of knowing us and understanding our soul on its most difficult moments. If you have fallen, God knows everything that happened to you. Therefore, do not hide anything from Him, for it is impossible to do so (Ps 139). Instead of acting in such a way, enter into His holy presence and tell Him what happened to you. If you felt pleasure in doing wrong, and you still feel the same after being saved, tell Him the truth and ask Him to free you.

You can and must open yourself with the Most High, for He will never shut you up into the enemy. The Eternal understands the weakness of our soul (Ps 103.14) and therefore, when He saves us, He baptizes us in the Holy Spirit. As He covers us with power, we will be able to live in a different way. We then produce the fruit of the Spirit, which is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law (Gl 5.22,23).

The Most High has set your feet – the capacity of being steadfast in life – in a wide place. Everyone who returns to the Most High will discover that his position before the kingdom of hell is one of complete freedom. As you are freed by Jesus, you will never again be a slave of your old sinful habits. Slavery will only happen again in your life if you let yourself be dominated by the temptations.

The wise know that the way out of their crisis is in the Word of God. Thus, they are always escaping the traps that are set against them, as it always happens to those who are in contact with the Heavenly Father. Make the Lord’s heart rejoice. Never believe that anything wrong was prepared by Him to entangle you. Everything that the Word condemns does not suit you!

In Christ, with love,

Beloved God! We do not have to be desperate in any moment, for You have already provided a wide place for us to live. Those who do not seek You do not know what they are losing. Our afflictions show the kind of communion that we have with You.

We are in a time of joy, because as You sent Your Son to substitute us, You considered our suffering and knew the anguish of our soul. Therefore, You have not given us into the hands of the enemy and You have made our walk steadfast.

Now we enjoy an abundant life. On the other hand, we cannot forget the millions that are dominated by demons. These people do not know that all that was necessary has already been done for them to live well. Help us to tell this to all of them!
