Now the magicians so worked with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not. So there were lice on man and beast Exodus 8:18

Imitating God’s demonstrations Egypt had set a drama stage as their witches and magicians replicated the Almighty’s accomplishments.  Accordingly the Pharaoh’s heart was hardened and would not release the Israelites.  The Pharaoh thought he could outwit and defeat Moses but to no avail.  Alas, he who had the God of Jacob as his Lord would never be put to shame.  Just as Laban would not outwit Jacob, the Pharaoh would be no match for Moses.  Doubt and fear do not overcome faith.

It was now time for Moses to release the third plague over that land. The Egyptian king must have slighted or even scorned the power that God’s servant claimed to have because when a divine sign was shown the witches and sorcerers would imitate. How would this end?  It is evident that the Almighty allowed these replications to serve as example to future generations.  The Lord is God!

The Egyptians were already witnessing the works by the All-Powerful and would now see His Power transform each particle of dust in a scourge of lice for all of them.  Likewise, those who resist the Gospel don´t know how much they will suffer when they are doomed to eternal fire; after all, it is very easy for the Lord to transform anything into what He wants.

Aaron was then instructed to stretch out his rod and strike the dust of the land, which would be transformed into lice. My God! What suffering the Egyptians underwent due to their king’s evil and hard heart!  In one instant to the next, all people and even their animals were afflicted by this curse.  How terrible and sad it must have been to have their whole bodies covered over with lice!  Mercy!

The proud magicians of Egypt boasted and bragged in all sorts of ways because the devil had given them the capacity to imitate the divine works; however, this time they were not able to manifest or to produce lice from the dust!  So, they acknowledged that the Lord’s power was unique in that manifestation.  All the devil’s antics and tricks have their limits, when all is nothing but deception and lies.  How the Lord is different: when He does His will there is nobody and nothing that can stop Him.  Amen?

Even the magicians were filled with lice.  When called in the presence of their king they said that the lice were the work of God in action.  This is the great news: we have His finger in our favor always and we should never doubt the Most High´s power.  All that God requires to operate in our behalf is that we act in faith.  The faith to live miracles comes through hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

The Pharaoh was being taught by the Lord, but would not listen. The Almighty had warned Moses and Aaron of this truth.  There is no way for what God says to fail, as long as we are bound inside the limits defined by the divine Word.  Great is the glory that the Heavenly Father wants to shower on our lives if we believe in Him. So believe and live!
