13/02/2017 - CANCELING THE DECISIONS

Therefore the Lord God of Israel says: ‘I said indeed that your house and the house of your father would walk before Me forever.’ But now the Lord says: ‘Far be it from Me; for those who honor Me I will honor, and those who despise Me shall be lightly esteemed. 1 Samuel 2:30

It is important to pay attention to the Lord’s resolutions, because they are conditional. The Bible talks about our salvation as something real, therefore, will never be annulled. However, Jesus says that only those who persevere will be saved (Matthew 24:13). This shows that our attitudes can harm us and lead us to eternal loss, even though we have already been saved. Eli did not give importance to his son’s sins and because of that, everything he was promised was revoked.

God did not deny what He said to Eli, but, since he was weak, the promise lost its value. What a sad day that must have been for the priest and his family! Unfortunately, this must be happening today with many people whom the Lord promised to bless, but because they gave into sin they did not receive the blessing. The Word teaches us to protect what we have so we may not lose our crown (Rev. 3:11). Therefore, be vigilant and pray!

By canceling past decisions, the Most High shows us that He is the one in charge. Keep in mind that the Omnipotent is not like us, but sovereign in every situation. Although Jesus calls us His friends, we must never forget that He is the Head of the Church: Lord over us. The respect and reverence to the Savior is always good and must be practiced. Those who don’t fear the Lord, excludes themselves from salvation!

The Highest would no longer honor the gift He gave to Eli. Those who are invested with power and let themselves be carried away by temptation will also lose what was promised. The Lord’s servants carry the weight of the obligation in persevering in the service for Him, in holiness and with all their strength. If someone disappoints you, do not follow their bad example or retaliate with bad actions. Even if someone is unfaithful to you, remain faithful, because we should never deny He who is faithful to us.

The Lord says that He honors those who honor Him.  Rebuke all relatives, friends and brothers in Christ who were influenced by evil, for they have become abominable. If there is no sincere repentance, they will lose salvation and get thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone that burns eternally. Those who do not honor God will not be honored by Him. What great loss this person will have. If this is your case, repent!

Not exhorting those who stray away from the Way is the same as if you were despising the Lord and, those who do that, will be debased – become vile. The Word needs to be completely obeyed and never forgotten, even when the transgressor is your friend. By not using the rod to exhort, in fear of offending those who are wrong, you are actually offending God, which is worse.

If Eli had exhorted, in the Word, his children the first time they acted in a bad manner, maybe they would have been amended, and the ministry of his house, which was to be eternal, could have been confirmed. But since he acted wrongly, he paid a big price, for his responsibility with the Lord was great.

In Christ, with love

Lord of honor! We should honor You to be honored. However, many times, like Eli, some pretend to not understand Your Word and act wrongly. Help us not to get into this path.

There is nothing worse than not being honored by You during the battles against the forces of evil, and being defeated. We ask for mercy, because we do not want to frustrate You or forget to glorify You. May we never turn into bad children because of the enemy.

We want to be Your happiness, just like David was close to Your heart. Then, there won’t be anything bad said about us. May our house, our ministry and everything You have given us to do be for your glory and praise. Thank You! Amen!
