30/12/2017 - CARRIAGES BURDENED AND HEAVY LADEN

Bel bows down, Nebo stoops; Their idols were on the beasts and on the cattle. Your carriages were heavily loaded, A burden to the weary beast. Isaiah 46:1

Two princes from Hell that were worshipped as god in ancient Babylon fell, as will fall all those that are considered as gods anywhere else.  If you have done anything good for humanity, give credit for this to divine mercy, for if it were not for the Lord to have interceded in your favor, nothing positive would have come from you. There is only one God and Lord, whose name is high and true.  By Him we are saved. Halleluiah!

In ancient Babylon, Bel was known and worshipped as the main deity.  During a long time, the people were fooled by this cult, which was nothing more than Satan’s deception to separate man from God.  Although considered to be greater, his image was transported on wheels when Babylon was conquered, which in itself, denies any divinity.  Deaf as always, he was taken by beasts.  So it will be the same with all “gods”.

Nebo was considered to be son of Bel and worshipped as the god of science and learning.  Like his father, he had the same fate.  If we pay attention, even among Christians, the devil has been able to make the servants of the Most High believe that they can be intermediaries between man and God, since they practiced the will of God in their days.  The goal of the devil is to blind man’s faith in the true Mediator between the Father and humanity, the Lord Jesus.  Pity on those who believe this!

Those that adored these Babylonian gods were demoralized, as they saw them be placed on carriages to be taken far from there.  They couldn’t prevent that the Babylonian worshippers, who were their followers, were conquered by Cyrus. Those idols were worshiped as deities, but, when facing Cyrus, they could do nothing for those that trusted in them. There is only one true God, who deplores the adoration and worship of images.

In several countries, this spiritual darkness exists and dominates millions of people.  Even in the so-called historical Christianity, there is the custom of sculpting images in honor of some people who practiced doing good and served God during their lives.  Later on with time, they would be adored and worshipped, regarded as intercessors, which has no biblical truth.  There is only one intercessor with the Almighty: Jesus, the Savior.

Isaiah, the prophet, reveals a curse on people who sell, produce, own or serve these images and idols, saying that they will be turned into the same as the images.  They have mouths, but speak not; ears, but do not hear, feet and do not walk.  The Bible condemns this adoration or idolatry, because it does not worship or adore the Lord, but only the demons.  The idolaters will not inherit the Kingdom of God (1Corinthians6:9).

What gods were Bel and Nebo, if they could not even carry themselves? The burden of their images was too much for the weary beasts which had to pull the carriages.  One should not keep any as a collection, nor anything similar, for they are repugnant to God.

In Christ, with love

True God! Like the people of Babylon, the adorers and worshippers of gods or beings that say they are intermediaries between You and man will conclude they are wrong. Only You can attend to those who trust and pray to You.

Bel, Nebo and all the others that man created to occupy Your place were useless to those that chose to trust them.  We can only place our trust in You, as You will always hear and listen to those that seek You.

Blessed are those that trust in Your Word and wait in You, for when they have to go through difficult times, as they pray to You, they will discover that they were truly helped. We pray that all those that do not know You yet will come to know You.
