And he walked in the way of his father Asa, and did not turn aside from it, doing what was right in the sight of the Lord. 2 Chronicles 20:32

Jehoshaphat began his reign well, walking in the ways of his ancestor David. He discovered that he was blessed by this attitude and, wherever he went, the Lord was with him. Thus, he received gifts from all Judah. This could have continued and even increased; however, this man, by an act condemned by the Bible, decided to appear with the king of Israel, who did not serve God. Then, in a hasty decision, he almost died while accompanying Ahab in a war.

Later, it was no longer David whom Jehoshaphat imitated, but King Asa his father. Jehoshaphat was able to accomplish many good things; but he would have done better if he had remained in the fear of David. Today, we do not have to imitate David, even though he was considered a man after the heart of God (Acts 13:22), since we have Christ as an example. If you want to be successful in everything and never have a rebuke, learn how Jesus would do in your place and do everything in His place.

The example came from Jesus, who walked everywhere teaching, preaching and using the power of God to deliver the oppressed (Acts 10:38). There was never a time when Jesus did not solve the problems that were presented to Him, but even over death He showed power and, because of this, the Father was always glorified with what the Master did. Take your mission as something given to you by the Lord himself and whose outcome He will ask you on the great Day.

There are many people who are beautiful while they are at the beginning of their walk of faith, but when they reach a point of Christian maturity, where they could walk with the Lord blamelessly, they act like Solomon, whose heart was corrupted by concubines and wives he had. Although he was the wisest man who ever existed, at the end of his days he bowed before the gods of those women who were unwise, but with indescribable beauty and seduction.

It is good to examine whether you have acted contrary to the will of God. If you have and do not repent, by doing what is right in the eyes of the Most High, having the pattern of the Lord Jesus, then you will not succeed in your day to day. Moreover, when the Judgment comes, you will receive the sentence that will make you spend eternity in Hell. You may ask why, and the answer is: the Savior has given us the example to act as He acted (John 13:15).

When we think of sin, there are not only women corrupting men of God, and vice versa, but there is also the fascination for riches, the cares of life and the ambition of other things. There are many who do not ascend to the pulpits anymore, who do not want to evangelize or live as holy ones. Worldliness has dominated many people, leading them to forbidden practices in the Word, and as a consequence, fulfilling the Lord’s purpose is not a priority.

See what has made your eyes sparkle and change completely, because if you yield to these things, you will be possessed by them and you will never straighten yourself. Consecrate yourself, because God’s plan includes great and wonderful things for you to accomplish. Do not change your path, keep learning how Jesus acted and do the same, so the devil does not cause you to get lost.

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares

Father! It is easy to fall into the "tale" of the devil if we are not watching and praying, for he brings the most charismatic and beautiful people to take us out of Your presence and thwart Your beautiful plan for our lives.

Jehoshaphat began his reign well, but he changed his example and had moments of weakness that cost him many pains. Do not let us fall into the hands of the wicked, in the unbearable pains, and in the discredit of all.

May Solomon never serve as a model for us, for our heart which has been recreated in Jesus cannot yield to temptations. We need inspiration, judgment and Your beautiful love. Help us stand firm! Amen!
