But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 8:12

On agreeing to go with the centurion to heal his servant, Jesus precipitated a series of events that are useful as lessons to us, that we cannot afford to be without (Matthew 8:5-13).  In the same way, He will use everyday situations to show us the truth, so that we might live better and be successful.  All that the Lord brings and offers to us is for our happiness.

On hearing Jesus say “yes” to his request, doing even more than he had asked, the centurion was surprised at such privilege and said that he was not worthy to have the Master under his roof.  He explained that it was not necessary that Jesus go to the place, for it was sufficient that He use His word in order to heal the servant.  The centurion added also that he was a man of authority and when he commanded his subordinates and soldiers they always obeyed him.

The mindset that we are servants of God and the angels are our co-servants, sent by God to serve the saved (Revelation 19:10; Hebrews 1:14), will certainly give us courage when we have to rebuke or cast out any evil.  We usually conduct ourselves well when facing a “small” adversity, but when something difficult arises we allow fear to enter.  Why?

Jesus said we would receive power as the Holy Spirit descended on us (Acts 1:8). We must lay hold of this promise and claim it as ours.  The virtue entrusted to us is over all the forces of evil, so we can bravely encounter any and all threats of the enemy.  We cannot hide our talents, believing that it is better to relinquish our position in God than to try but fail. Mercy!

The centurion´s reply startled Jesus, for He had never found such faith, not even among the chosen people. This is what the Master wants to see in you, and not someone who is always defeated and crying, confessing losses. Wake up! We are authorized to use the Name that is above all names (Philippians 2:9). Do not accept any suffering or sin.  What will you do now?

Those that lived in the way of error have found the way of righteousness, but those that should have overcome go through great suffering.  Check to see if you don’t have sinful secret desires in your life.  If you do, confess them and abandon sin that removes you from God’s presence. There are sinners from the East and the West, seated with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, in the Kingdom of heaven, and children are going hungry (Matthew 8:11).  Truly sad, is it not?

Why continue in the wrong direction if this will cast you into outer darkness? You are part of the chosen people to bring joy to God and surprise Him with good and faithful attitudes.  He is more than ready to give you the Word that will make you free.  He has blessings available for the asking.  What do you say about this?  Are you going to accept this?

In Christ, with Love

God of the Word of power!  We have lost many blessings by not taking hold of what belongs to us by faith in Jesus.  We were called to be part of Your glory, but we have found “more important things” to do.

We cannot remain far from You, for the enemy will continue to keep us under his hand.  You will help us and deliver us from all evil, but we have not been zealous to claim what is ours and this is why we suffer defeats.

In Jesus’s Name we bind the evils that threaten us.  From this moment on, there will be nothing more that will oppress us.  Thank You for placing the devil under our feet. Now we bind all evil and expel it from our lives. Halleluiah!
