Woe to those who go down to Egypt for help, and rely on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are very strong, but who do not look to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek the Lord! Isaiah 31.1

In Scriptures, Egypt signified the land of sin. In those times, some of the children of God went to seek for aid in places where they should never be, like the Hollywood of our times. They would be fascinated with the horses of the land of Pharaoh, and would put their trust in chariots and powerful horses from that land. Their greatest mistake was not paying attention to the Holy One of Israel and not seeking Him. It is not a good idea to exchange our God for anything.

Where the devil acts, there are many things that fascinate and charm those who live in the flesh, and are less favored by the divine grace. When Abraham went to Egypt, he almost lost his wife. Now, that could not happen, for our salvation was supposed to come from that couple. It is not good to be in the land where sin reigns, for you might lose the best thing that you have and that brings good to all – your salvation.

The charms of this world cannot catch your attention. The Word orients us not to love the world or the things in the world, for if we do so, the love of the Father will not be in us (1 Jo 2.15). We may use what is good and useful in this world, but we must only love our heavenly Father. See if you have not behaved in a way that is contrary to what God teaches, and strive to dedicate yourself to love the Lord, who solves all your problems.

Do not live to appreciate the beauty that exists in Egypt. The Israelites were fascinated with the beauty of the horses, but not with God’s promises. They did not even know that many centuries before, even though Egypt was the largest country in the world, it was not able to resist to a group of slaves. And the beautiful and strong horses of that time, together with its riders, were all killed in the sea (Dt 11.4).

The chariots of Pharaoh’s land, which impressed the foolish Israelites, were not able to cross through the deep soil of the Red Sea, which was crossed by the feet of those who trusted the Lord. The best things of this world only impress those who do not live in the divine presence. Still today, the Most High uses a simple man like Barak, who fought with ten thousand men against Sisera, with his 900 chariots and thousands of soldiers.

It is necessary to look to the Lord, for He created everything that exists – the physical laws and all the things that have allowed mankind to create great accomplishments. There is so much more in the heavenly Father that if we look to Him, we will find the way to live better. Look to the Creator and you will act in the same manner as the heroes of the past.

This is the best time to seek the Almighty. Those who find Him will find goodness and will attain His favor. With God besides you, there will be no unresolved situation. As you find the Most High, you will become the blessing that He destined you to be.

In Christ, with love,

Merciful God! It is so sad to observe what exists in the spiritual Egypt. This place fascinates Your children and makes them desire the things that exist there. Many have already walked astray, and if You do not have mercy, they will be forever lost. Have mercy, Lord!

We do not need to observe the horses from the land of sin, the chariots, and the riders, for we have a God that is infinitely greater and better than all of them together. You have promised us that You would never leave or forsake us.

We aim to look to You, in order to be illuminated. We want to seek You so we can be satisfied with Your presence. Oh God! There are many things that tempt us, but we only desire to do Your will. There are no reasons to stop contemplating You.
