Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No! They were not at all ashamed, nor did they know how to blush. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall; in the time of their punishment they shall be cast down,” says the Lord. Jeremiah 8.12

Many that have walked away from the Gospel will never return to the arms of the good Pastor. What is sad is that they are aware of their decision, and even convinced about their sins, but because of pride they choose to remain far away from the Fountain of Life, Jesus. However, when the last day comes, and they see themselves marching towards eternal perdition, they will scream in dread with the eternal decision that they made. Why do they insist in hurting our meek Lord?

What a foolish decision! Why do they rebel for their own loss? If they walked in a muddy place and fell, would they not rise again and clean themselves from the mud? Why should they not make use of the time of divine visitation and ask for forgiveness to He who has all the power and has determined that they will have a sorrowful fate? Who is he that, noticing that he took a wrong way to go to a city, does not return?

Is it possible that someone who notes that his wallet with all the money for his monthly bills fell to the ground will be ashamed of reaching down to get it? However, many children of God know that the path that they chose will lead them to the eternal fire, but even so, they prefer to be in the arms of the seductress (Prov 23.27), to live in dishonesty, and be corrupted by idolatry and witchcraft. Now, those who transgress the commandment sign their own sentence. How dreadful!

Like madmen, they surrender themselves to the demons. However, these spirits that they chose as lords will make them desire and embrace infernal flames forever. These people are like horses, which, in battles, obey those who are mounted in them and throw themselves impetuously against the enemy, not understanding that they may fall dead even there. The “wise” that rebel against God notice that they were fools in their choice. This is the way that those who trust in themselves walk.

The animals know the venomous plants and avoid them; the salmons swim in currents, struggling against the fury of water to get to the place of spawning; however, the foolish do not manage to see the divine plan. Oh! If they left their madness, they would be able to enjoy the wonderful love and power of God.

The foolish are always startled, suffering all kinds of evil, in such a way that they do not enjoy the best in life. However, they are not ashamed for their wicked works. In fact, they do not even know what shame is any longer. Why, then, do they decide to live so, if they know that the greater punishment will come in the end of their days? If you are one of these people, return to the Lord.

Those who do not believe in the decree of the Lord that they will be destroyed deceive themselves. However, He also made another decree, guaranteeing that He will forgive your sins and will not remember them if you return in repentance and ask for forgiveness. What about enjoying this opportunity now? If you leave if for later, it might be too late.
