01/04/2015 - CONVERSION BRINGS COMPASSION

For if you return to the LORD, your brethren and your children will be treated with compassion by those who lead them captive, so that they may come back to this land; for the LORD your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn His face from you if you return to Him.” 2 Chronicles 30:9

Conversion to God is the most intelligent act anyone can do. With it, one finds salvation, has complete happiness, has their sins forgiven, abandons the path of death and starts to walk towards heaven, whence they won’t leave. However, in order for them not to be disqualified they have to endure to the end (Matthew 24:13). The Lord will never deny entrance into the Kingdom of Heaven to those who make such decision.

The message was given to the Israelites taken to Babylon. However, it also applies to any sinner today. It doesn’t matter how much an individual is wrong because when converting, he/she finds mercy before God and can be brought back to the Land of Promise, the Gospel. However, those who despise God’s offer, keeping their neck stiff and being insensitive to God’s touch will not get far.

The important thing is that the converts return to the land that belonged to them. They have no value in the enemy’s field, but in their country of origin they become citizens with rights in the Kingdom of God and participants of the divine operations. Those who return are forgiven, cleansed from all unrighteousness, freed from condemnation, being sovereign over their own lives (Romans 8:1).

Every convert should remember that the Lord God is gracious and merciful. He does not remember our ungratefulness forever, though they hurt His heart (Hebrews 10:17). By forgiving the offender, not only God forgets what he did, but He also begins to use him in His work. He who repents wholeheartedly is completely reconciled.

The great truth that we must never forget is that the Lord is not ashamed to be our Father and to call us children. We can always trust Him because He will never leave us or regret loving us. God’s love is what keeps us alive and ready to do His good will. The Almighty will never despise us even if the enemy tries to convince us otherwise.

However, it is important to note that the conversion must be to God, not to a religious belief, because there is not even one religion that pleases Him. What pleases the Lord is only a broken and contrite heart that’s ready to be used by Him (Psalm 51:17). In this way, he who fulfills His commandments reaches the fullness of the divine love.

It is up to the person who did wrong to make the decision to return to God under the conviction of the Holy Spirit. God is the One who convict us of sin, but we must accept God’s offer of forgiveness (John 16:8). No one out of their own ability will be able to go to Jesus for it’s an exclusive prerogative of the Father.

In Christ with Love,

Merciful Father! Thanks for the alternative that you set before us. If we leave the path of death and begin to walk on the path of life, we will go to You and will find mercy for our sin and as a result we will return to our land.

You are merciful, so we find in you the willingness to change our hearts. The good thing is also that You are not ashamed of calling us children, of blessing and guiding us to the destination that you have proposed to all who love and obey You.

O God! We know that You never regret loving us. We want to turn to You with all our heart and have our sins blotted out. To this end we need the conviction of Your wonderful Holy Spirit. Thanks for treating us in such a beautiful way.
