I cry out to the LORD with my voice; with my voice to the LORD I make my supplication. Psalm 142.1

When we read what the men of God wrote in the Scriptures, we are moved. Looking at the prayers done by many of them, we see that they were truly inspired by the Holy Spirit. But, if we want to have victories, we need to realize that they actually wanted the results they achieved, therefore the Lord answered their prayers. Brethren, what matters the most to the Most High is our hearts’ intention, shown by the firmness of our faith.

Abraham must have prayed numerous times. We should not use the same words that he did when he prayed (on the occasions when he received an answer), because they expressed what was in his heart. Similarly, our words have to express what is inside our hearts. Never imitate another person’s prayer in order to be blessed, because God looks within us to see our true will. Your prayer may even resemble that of another person, but the words have to come out straight from your heart.

David lived in God’s presence. It is good to imitate his attitude, but what he obtained through prayer was a consequence of the words that he pronounced. It is no use to merely repeat what the psalmist said. You should pray in accordance with what, through the Word of God, you have understood to be God’s will for your life. When you pray, make sure you express in your own words that which the Lord has spoken to you.

It is obvious that David sought inspiration in the biblical records in order to draw closer to the Most High. However, analyzing what he wrote, we can see that it was his own words and his true intention that made the Lord hear him. What type of prayer do your words convey? If it is the prayer of faith, you will be heard. It is possible for a person to have genuine faith, but using someone else’s words will not express exactly what lies in his innermost being.

The Most High will answer our prayers. Therefore, we must be careful not to speak words that contradict what he has revealed to us. The best prayer is when you return to the Lord what he has spoken to you. If your supplication is made with faith and by expressing what you want, there is no way God will not answer you. I have noticed that when I pray with doubt in my heart I do not receive any answer.

None of the teachings of the Holy Book should be despised; on the contrary, all of them must be observed. If you want the Father to grant your wishes, watch carefully what you are going to say. If you pray without faith, or without expressing your true wishes, nothing will be given to you. Those who act with faith do not accept any results different from that which has been revealed through the Word. Any person who, through prayer, expresses his faith will receive an answer.

It is with your voice that you make your supplication. If you use words from other people, you will not receive an answer. It does not matter who prayed or taught you how to cry out. Do like David did and have your prayers answered. The Lord is your God as much as he was or is of any other person who acted upon the Word.

In Christ, with love,

All-powerful Father, now we know that we have to cry out with our own voices instead of repeating the supplications made by your servants in the past. You answer our prayers when we act upon that which you have taught us through the words that express our faith in you.

Even this prayer serves only as a model. He who keeps repeating it will not receive your answer. You want to hear what lies in our hearts, combined with the faith that you have given us. Therefore, Father, I ask you: hear the prayer that the reader of this message will make.

Now that we have learned how to cry out with our own voices, my friends will speak with you in the right manner. Some of them may stutter a little or find it difficult to express what it is that they really want. Nevertheless, each and every one of them will receive an answer from you, as long as they pray in accordance with Your will.
