For it is the day of the Lord’s vengeance, the year of recompense for the cause of Zion. Isaiah 34.8

Adam’s betrayal was a heavy blow to God’s plans. When Adam believed in the lie that the devil said to Eve, he did something that will make victims all around, until the return of Christ and the destruction of all things by fire. He had been made in the image and likeness of the Almighty, but from that moment on, the forces of darkness oppressed his inheritance. Since man was separated from God, he knew what Satan’s hatred was.

After the fall, the devil entered in the world and became the prince of men. After all, a man is the servant of whomever he obeys. Thus, several problems and sufferings started to afflict mankind. Initially, the first couple had to bury one of their two sons, who was killed by the other son. How much pain they must have felt! Besides, they realized the worthlessness of sin, and how those who practice it become servants of the evil and cruel enemy.

However, since God is loving and merciful, He began to work the plan of vengeance since the moment that we were separated from Him. During thousands of years, He who is Perfect and Expert in all things conducted the events until the moment when everything came together with the great exclamation: “it is finished!” Since then, no one needs to be subject to Satan’s desires, for the price has already been paid. Now we can live and believe in freedom.

The Son of God died in a shameful way – a death on the cross – but on the third day, He resurrected. When He descended to Hell, He annihilated the devil, who had the power of death. The death of Jesus was necessary so that His innocent blood could redeem us to God. Now, there is no need of sacrifice. We must only believe in what Christ has done for us. This is how we enjoy the abundant life that He brings.

After the Word of God became flesh and paid our debt, there is no kind of suffering that can enslave you. Everyone who knows the Truth has the potential to definitively get rid of the enemy’s evil acts. The saved ones are part of the Lord’s Church, so they should not let the devil oppress them. After all, how can a defeated being afflict someone who has been victorious? We have defeated de devil forever in Christ.

The period after the plan of salvation is one of retribution. Today, the Lord is granting gifts to men, so that they may represent Him properly, with dignity. In the Gospel, there is no need to suffer in order to please Jesus. If someone does so, he will be benefitting the devil, and will be showing who he really loves. Mercy, Lord! Even if someone acts in such a way, Satan is so evil that he will not think twice in destroying that person.

Zion represents the church that is delivered from its struggles. Since we are part of the Body of Christ, the Church, we must resist every attempt of the devil to enslave us. This is the day of the Lord’s vengeance, in which He will reward all humanity for what it has suffered until Jesus exclaimed that the bond of slavery was finished. Take hold of your deliverance!
