Why should we die before your eyes, both we and our land? Buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be servants of Pharaoh; give us seed, that we may live and not die, that the land may not be desolate. Genesis 47:19

God’s people must prepare themselves for the battles that will come against humanity, like Jesus said: these are the beginning of sorrows (Matthew 24:8). We have seen hunger, famine, pestilence, earthquakes, seaquakes, tsunamis, and other catastrophes and these are not to mention or to be compared with what is in store to affect the inhabitants of the Earth.  We have to invest what the Lord places in our hands to redeem man from eternal damnation. The rescue provided by the Almighty is to believe in the Gospel.

The Almighty used Joseph in the interpretation of the Pharaoh’s dream concerning the seven years of plenty that Egypt would enjoy and the seven lean years, when many people would die of hunger. The Egyptian potentate was wise to listen to Joseph, and frightened by the interpretation of his dream and its significance. After this he gave Joseph the authority to rule the government and this way not only Egypt was saved but other surrounding countries that humbled themselves to him were saved too.

After being placed as prime minister of Egypt, Joseph was used to preserve the lives and livelihood of his family and so many others. Alas, we have been enlightened by the Almighty to show that salvation is only possible in Christ Jesus and not in religions.  Now we are in charge and responsible to present the Truth to all people. Halleluiah and Amen!

During their second year of famine, the Egyptians went to Joseph and offered to sell their land to buy food in order to survive.  We can’t pass up or lose the opportunity to supply the true nourishment which strengthens man’s determination to not be prostituted or submit to the devil but live instead with dignity.  The difference between the food we offer and that which Joseph gave is that ours solves any problem and costs nothing.  Don’t abuse or take advantage of those in crises!

Here is one of the wonderful lessons we obtain from this fact: Joseph did not get rich with the gift he received from God but he made the Pharaoh even richer.  In this manner we must be servants who make many wealthy and not just ourselves from the Lord.  It is not correct or wise to use divine wisdom for self-gain. We must take the lost to repent and to be saved!  Do not seek temporary glory but the eternal.  By living in sanctity and holiness you will please the omnipotent and holy God!

We are raised and placed to be a blessing to our superiors, to the poor that we must help and to all that are under enemy oppression.  We must be a witness to the Truth and lead the lost to freedom in Christ.  Be responsible and use your talents well and wisely as they were entrusted to you, and when you least expect it you will be called to accountability for your gifts.  What then will you say? Watch and pray, so as not to fall into temptation.  Be holy because the Lord is holy.

The sons and daughters of the Almighty who want to become rich are only setting their sights on material prosperity and not in the Kingdom of God, thus, falling into the traps and snares of the devil. Joseph made all Egyptians slaves to the Pharaoh (Genesis 47:21) and we must make everybody who seeks our favor to become true servants of God.  What do you say?
