21/09/2016 - DO NOT FEAR THE ENEMY’S THREATS

He will subdue the peoples under us, and the nations under our feet.  Psalm 47.3

Ever since the gospel has been preached the devil has used threats to prevent those who are lost from hearing the Truth. He does everything he can to avoid losing one more person who is under his control. The answer to any manifestation of the enemy’s wrath must be the same one given by Jesus to those who advised him to flee because Herod wanted to kill him. He said to them, “Go, tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.’” (Luke 13.32).

Why should we fear messages from the devil if we are God’s servants? In the light of this truth, what can the enemy do against us? Why should we fear what he says? Do not bargain with the devil, because to win your soul he will pretend he is good. If you do not fear Satan, the Lord will protect you; on the other hand, if you allow fear to take over, the enemy will find a door open to invade your territory and carry out his evil works.

In the days of David, the great promise of the Lord was that the day would come when He would subdue the peoples under us. This promise has been fulfilled by the death and resurrection of Jesus, who paid our debt and bought our salvation. Therefore, do not fear the attacks from hell. The kingdom of darkness may employ all its weapons against you, but none of them will succeed. All you need to do is stand firm in your faith in Christ and God will protect you.

In many parts of the world still covered by spiritual darkness, the devil seems to reign without any trouble. Nevertheless, when the Lord’s church comes with the message of Light, the devil’s calmness will come to an end. He will try to prevent God’s works from advancing but he will not be able to, because Jesus said that the gates of Hades shall not prevail against his church. (Matthew 16.18b). The enemy knows that the Almighty guides the glorious march of those who are saved to victory.

At each step forward taken by the church – whether in our nation or in any other place – the power of God is working to make his Word prevail. Each soul that is won to Christ, in addition to making your nation a better place (since the Scriptures say that blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord – Psalm 33.12), shows that the adversary is being subdued under us. When every soul has been won, Christ will come to take his church to be with him forever.

It is not surprising how much effort Satan has endeavored towards paralyzing God’s works, seeking to bring God’s people to face tough temptations. The good news is that our heavenly Father knows the devil’s plans. He who is not deceived by the devil’s lies will be called good and faithful servant and will enter into the kingdom of God, which has been prepared for them since the foundation of the world. Therefore, resist temptation.

There has never been – nor will there be – a single time when the Lord has forsaken his children. Some will fall into sin, some will cause others to fall, but those who persevere until the end, not letting the devil deceive them, will find out that the Almighty faithfully fulfills all his promises. He knows how to keep his children from the traps from the kingdom of wickedness.
