But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.  Hebrews 11:16

 

The text talks about those who died in faith (v. 13), who didn’t get carried away by what is apparent, but they remained firm in the promises of God and lived as if they had already taken hold of them. This is how we must live, for that which the Lord says is true. It doesn’t matter if you are going through a trial. Remember that Jesus promised us to come back to take us with Him to Glory! 

Those who trust in the divine promises must walk as if they have already been fulfilled in their life, and they must also despise everything that can interfere in their relationship with God and refuse any sinful offer. This pleases Him a lot. But be careful! Your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring Lion, seeking to devour you (1 Peter 5:8). Remain in the promises of the Most High. 

These heroes of faith annulled themselves for the Gospel. This surrender made it possible for the message of salvation to reach us. We must proceed the same way, for the Word needs to go to the furthest places on the planet. There are many people who need to listen to the message of the cross, and not religious doctrines. Examine how much you have done for these souls to be saved. 

It does not matter if you are surrounded by good people, if your life can be compared to paradise, or if it does not have anything extraordinary, or if it is filled with suffering and pain. Those who serve the Lord must not be impressed with the conditions in which God called them to serve Him. On the contrary, they need to strive to believe in Jesus, because, without Him, nobody will escape eternal perdition. 

Never allow the Lord to be ashamed of you, for, like Jesus said: whoever denies Him before men will be denied before the angels of God (Luke 12:8,9). Those who don’t do what He commands cannot be friends (John 15:15). See how you have lived and pray to the Father, confess Him your errors and accept His forgiveness. Then, you will be someone in whom He will delight much in confessing that you belong to Him. 

Start to dream with the day you will reach the Heavens. The King of kings will be there with all His happiness, ready to welcome you. When you realize that your tears were wiped by Him, you will discover that you made the right decision. Those who love the world and the things of this world will never please God. The wicked will repent too late when they see that they are heading to the lake of fire and brimstone. 

There are some who will be deceived by the enemy so much that they won’t even want to go to Heaven. Now, all of us will follow the course of life, and sooner or later, we will be gone forever.  Where will you be then?
