24/11/2014 - DON’T CARRY A “DEFUNCT” IN YOUR SPIRIT

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. James 2.26

Whoever has faith pleases God, for he listens to His Word and does not despise it. There is not one single person that does not know what to do after they listen to the Gospel. The certainty that comes to the hearts of those who listen to the Scriptures is what we call faith. The person that discards faith will never please the Lord (Hb 11.6).

If you do not have faith, don’t even pray. However, who can guarantee that you don’t have faith? After all, without it you would not be reading this article. Even if it is small, if your faith is applied in the right way, the blessing will be yours. Most people misunderstand faith with desire. Now, desire is born out of need, and faith, out of God’s promises. Desire is something we aim for; faith is the certainty of the things that we wait for (Hb 11.1).

If a spirit leaves a body, a person becomes a defunct. In the same way, if your faith does not have works, it is like as a body without a spirit (Jm 2.26). Undoubtedly, there are many people carrying a “defunct” – faith without works – in their hearts. Those who do not put faith in practice do great harm to themselves, for we should always do so. If you do not have the need to pray for something in particular, intercede for someone who is in suffering.

God has deposited great hope in you by giving you faith. With it, you can get rid of problems, operate in the same way as Jesus did, with the conditions to act in His Name and put the divine power in action. Thus, when you believe, this power helps you to be victorious. On the other hand, nothing will be done for the incredulous.

Abraham received the blessing of being the father of a numerous family. However, he was tested until he reached a hundred years, when Isaac was born (Gn 21.5). Anyhow, during all that time, he confessed that he was called Abraham – father of a multitude of nations (Gn 17.5). Although everything proved that that was not true nor would it be, he was completely certain that the Lord was powerful to fulfill His promise (Hb 10.23).

What have you felt from the Most High? The certainty that a blessing will be given to you is everything you need for the miracle to happen. He who has the conviction can start praising the Lord. By faith, you will not stumble in a single stone, for God will always give victory for those who fulfill His commandments. It was by faith that the heroes of the past were successful (Hb 11).

There was never a case in which God failed. Certainly, it will not be different with you. Therefore, do not let yourself be defeated by what is, apparently, the truth. Be firm in vindicating what the Scriptures declare to be yours. The Most High God is faithful and will always be ready to perform His words (Jr 1.12).
