The chief jailer committed to Joseph's charge all the prisoners who were in the jail; so that whatever was done there, he was responsible for it. Genesis 39.22

Joseph of Egypt’s path is one of the most beautiful paths seen. He was the son of a noble father, was sold into slavery and even when he had the opportunity to sin he refused to do so because of his respect for the Lord God. He preferred to have a normal life than to enjoy pleasures that could give him good times at the home of his master. Because he was holy he was taken to jail under false accusation, but as a servant of the Most High he was soon promoted.

He who belongs to the Lord will always stand out from the others; there is no need to promote yourself, let yourself be used in wrong practices or be traitorous with someone. The Father knows how to promote someone. In a short time in Egypt’s prison, Joseph was the prisoner who commanded the others. This happened because of his faithfulness to God. Whoever gets carried away by the facilities presented will actually see that they are a coup from the enemy.

When a child of God recognizes that the divine hand of God put him in that job, led him to become a member of a certain family and recognizes it, he is taking the first step towards success. Those who belong to the Most High draw water from the rock, remove the capacity of the burning fire and shut the lions’ mouths (Is 48.21; 2 Kgs 1.9-16; 1 Samuel 17.34-36). The servants of God have in them the anointing that doesn’t allow them to live in shame.

If they are called to manage a company, for example, soon they show themselves capable, loyal and honest; if elected for a public position, they don’t abuse of the authority that was given to them; if occupying a Manager’s position, their department, before long, becomes a reference to others. The heavenly Father is pleased to see His children following His directions. That’s why the Lord Himself defends or helps his people in times of need (Psalm 35).

The servants of the Lord know that He can send them somewhere that will be as a school to them, even if this place is a prison. And when the time comes to get out of there, he will not take them out in secret, but will let everyone know that a man of God had been there, which now will go to a better life. The instruction given by the Almighty to those who believe in His Word makes them better in everything. He who trusts in the Father will never be confused (Rom. 10:11)!

Do everything you should do where the Almighty has put you. Do not let the good name of the LORD that was invoked over you, be mocked by the unfaithful, discredited by the enemies of the Christian faith and a reason for scandal for those who are starting to live in Jesus. In everything, be honest, holy and obedient to what is written, because the Almighty will be your great reward. Don’t ever stop honoring the Lord who entrusted His Kingdom on you!

In the love of Christ,

R. R. Soares
