31/01/2014 - DON’T FIGHT FOR TOO MUCH

Better a handful with quietness than both hands full, together with toil and grasping for the wind. Ecclesiastes 4:6

Desperation to become rich and acquire everything the eyes can see doesn’t come from God. Vanity causes people to fight to achieve more and more, as if they were in some kind of competition. The Word says that there are people to whom the Lord has given riches and farms, as well as the power to make use of these things. The Word also declares that this is a gift from God (Ec. 5:19). If He hasn’t given you the power to become rich, don’t try to do it on your own.

The Lord’s advices are always the best. When He plans that someone should prosper, He teaches him or her to reach that position. If He hasn’t spoken anything to you in that regard, you should wait, because if it’s His will for you He will say it one day. To become desperate proves that you aren’t under divine directions. On the other hand, those who follow the Lord’s orders will never fail.

The verse we are currently studying affirms that what the Lord gives, comes alongside with rest. Therefore if you are feeling restless and if you can’t find peace to your soul, whatever you are longing for doesn’t come from the Lord. Those who receive a direction from the Lord and follow it walk in complete peace. Our God will fight our battles; we should just believe what He says.

The Lord cannot help those who have their hands full. The absence of peace, success in battles and of a consecrated life shows that the divine favor is not working in these people’s lives. God says that He gives while His beloved sleep (Ps. 127:2). He prepares them the bread – the spiritual nutrition that will enable them to fight and win. Those who are led by the Lord are kept in perfect peace forever.

The malign spirits act where there is suffering and affliction. The demon is present when there is no peace, when things aren’t in agreement with the Word, and when there is desperation to obtain results. This happens most of the time when there are dishonest and sinful acts involved, and when people go against the biblical commandments.

Don’t seek to have things just to be admired by others; what really matters is when the Lord promotes you before other people. Be an obedient servant, dedicated and run from the malign proposals! Keep in mind that the Lord knows what’s best for us, and because of that, we should never run early, because if we do so, we might not have His presence with us.

In Christ, with love,
