03/04/2014 - EVERLASTING LIFE IS FOR YOU

And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day. John 6.40

The Bible does not leave us waiting in suspense, without understanding. Everything written in the Scriptures is meant to show us God’s will. In the verse above, the Lord Jesus reveals God’s purpose for us: to see Christ and believe in him, so that we may have everlasting life and be raised at the last day. Therefore, those who follow these steps will be successful here in this world, and after dying, will live forever with the Master.

To see the Son of God is something very special, it is to have a spiritual vision of the Creator, as well as of his purposes. When this happens, you become so aware of his presence that it is almost as if you saw him physically. Then you become joyful, the Word becomes alive and, at the same time, you know that it was God who visited you. Everything that was hindering your life and, in your eyes, was superior to your own abilities, becomes subject to your authority.

It is only through revelation that we are able to believe in Jesus, like people did in biblical times. This belief is not a rational decision through which we agree that he is the Truth, that he can heal the sick or work a miracle, as long as it is his will. True belief makes you believe in what cannot be seen, hear what cannot be heard, and have the same faith of the Lord. God wants that for you!

This is the confidence that allows us to receive the same miraculous works that were done by Jesus during his earthly ministry. As a result, people are completely delivered from evil forces, abandon sin, crime and other evil behaviors, and start living in a way that pleases the Lord. The Almighty God wants you to have this sort of understanding; otherwise he is not able to use you in the manner he wants.

The ultimate reward for believing in Jesus is everlasting life. But, before that, God wants to use those who believe in him the same way he used Christ and his apostles. Our faith in Jesus leads us to take possession of everything that has been prepared for us and which the Lord reveals to us. Our faith in the Son of God leads us to take our place and claim our rights in him.

Now, the best of all is to know that the Lord Jesus will raise us at the last day. With this promise from the Son of God, we can rest assured that he will not fail us. Those who sleep in the Lord will wake up at the sound of the Savior’s beautiful voice calling them back to life, because it will be time to receive their reward.
