Look to Abraham your father, and to Sarah who bore you; for I called him alone, and blessed him and increased him. Isaiah 51:2

The life of Abraham and the events he went through are lessons we cannot take for granted. The Lord commanded the Israelites to look to their father Abraham and his wife, Sarah. What happened to them serves as a lesson to us, so that no one will consider it too late for the blessings of the Lord to be fulfilled. When Abraham found out that he was committing a mistake, he corrected himself and the Lord most high did what He had planned for Abraham’s life.

It would be good if you started to seek in the Bible and to ask the Lord what has been hindering you from seeing His operation. God always does more than what He promises, and if what you’ve heard from Him hasn’t yet come true, there is something wrong going on.

The truth is that when Abraham came back from the victory against the four kings who had defeated the king of Sodom (Gn. 14), he realized that God is omnipotent. Abraham then started believing in the correct way, and Isaac was born. Your miracle might not happen because of you. It is not just sin that hinders the divine operation, but also when we don’t believe in the correct way. When we believe in the right way, the Lord acts on our behalf. Do at least two things: pray and read the Scriptures.

The Lord most high loved Abraham because he walked away from idolatry and witchcraft, which were very common at the time. All Abraham’s fellow citizens were surrendered to them, but Abraham served the one and only God. Because he did that, he was also loved back by the Lord. The Father shall do the same for you and for anyone who isn’t carried away by false teachings.

Because of the way he proceeded, Abraham was blessed. The Word addressed to him guaranteed that the Lord would be a friend of his friends and an enemy to his enemies (Gn. 12:3; Ex. 23:22). The worst thing someone at the time could do was to somehow harm Abraham. The same promise is effective to those who surrender to the Lord and serve Him. When we observe and follow what’s revealed to us in the Word of God, the blessings of God shall reach us.

The promise of multiplication works for all those who listen to the voice of the Lord most high. If Abraham didn’t believe, the promises wouldn’t have come true. Many people will say they are “owners” of blessings, but they will never see blessings being fulfilled. Watch carefully if you are doing everything the Lord ordains; otherwise He will not fulfill what He speaks of you. Those who sit and wait will not see the power of God acting on their behalf.

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares
