And it happened, when all our enemies heard of it, and all the nations around us saw these things, that they were very disheartened in their own eyes; for they perceived that this work was done by our God. Nehemiah 6.16

What God has commissioned you to do is bigger than you might think. When your work has been finished, the enemies will listen to it and will be desperate. It doesn’t matter how difficult or dangerous is the mission given; the secret is to roll up the sleeves and do it. In this way, you will have the Lord on your side forever and, when you finish, you will see that it was the best God put on your hands to be done.

People who mutter and complain for any reason, yet it seems fair, don’t do what was asked of them. They don’t know the evil they do to themselves and to the others who, getting to know their attitude, will imitate them as well. Not accepting the divine mission is to err in every sense; therefore, he who is sensible must throw himself with happiness and wholeheartedly to fulfill what was ordered.

In the days of Nehemiah, the devil didn’t act differently from today; he tried, in every way, to stop the development of the work King Artaxerxes’ former butler was doing. However, the servant of the Lord, because he was a man of faith, didn’t let himself be beaten down by the threats the others did, nor by mocking, not even by the declaration of the people that there wasn’t any conditions to keep on the restoration on the walls of Jerusalem.

It was 52 days of great pressure. There was days when the Jews placed the bricks with one hand and held the sword with the other. A coalition of people was formed to tear down what was repaired, but Nehemiah didn’t bow himself. When the threat seemed to take place at any moment, he prayed to the Lord. Then, when he finished the work, he smiled, and his enemies were in despair.

Just as God knew everything that was being planned against His servant, He knows the threats they make against you, the evil they try against you. But I want you to know that the Lord has promised that He will never leave nor forsake you. With your opponents, there is the devil, defeated and conquered, who snarls like a dog – but a dog with some teeth missing and who cannot bite. The Almighty is with you, the strong God, invincible and ready to enter the battle and give you the victory.

The deception of the enemy was huge, and the gentiles who lived around them as well. So, they were very disheartened in their own eyes. They had to recognize that God was with Nehemiah and the people. It won’t be any different with you. The dog can snarl, but its teeth have been taken away. Now, you are in command.

The Most High has a wonderful plan for you to fulfill; therefore, He will take you to experiences you don’t expect. Don’t get desperate if some are bitter, if your best friend betrays you, if they accuse you deceitfully and something happens to make you think of giving up. Never do that, since the Lord knows such lessons are useful to you.

In Christ, with love,

Omnipotent Lord! How important it is never to step back in the mission you gave us. The enemy has made many give up and return to their family. They don’t even realize that tragic attitude pleases the wicked one and disgusts You. They need to love You, oh Lord!

If Nehemiah had listened to Sanballat, Tobiah and their partners, he wouldn’t have prospered the work You gave him. Nevertheless, he was fearless, daring and courageous enough for not letting the devil take away the pleasure of being used by You.

The truth is that there isn’t and there won’t be any coalition of defeated ones who can make us cross our arms and do nothng. We are, truly, Your servants, and You are our Commander. Therefore, the work will be done according to your will.
