He who loves transgression loves strife, and he who exalts his gate seeks destruction.

Proverbs 17:19

We must always be on the alert having the Scriptures as a basis because they teach us to lead a successful life. By keeping the holy commandments we do a tremendous good to ourselves and also to others. If we are not watchful, the enemy will put us in trouble because this is his mission. There is no other way to be kept safe from the people used by the evil one, except for the Word of the Lord.

One thing is for sure: he who condones deviations loves sin. So stay away from those who are dominated by wickedness because in a moment of weakness you can be entrapped by their beliefs, which may lead you into doing something that will take you away from God or condemn you to eternal death. He who takes pleasure in wrongdoings has a power of persuasion that will keep you from seeing evil in the wrong things. Bear in my mind that being friends with someone who does such a thing is tantamount to being a friend of the devil.

Another important advice is for you not to open your heart to anyone. If everything is going well in your life, praise the Lord but do not tell anyone that you have been successful. At most, give the testimony that God has helped you achieve this situation. By exposing your private issues you empower the envious man to emulate you, which he will undoubtedly do or will tell others about you.

People dominated by the spirit of envy are possessed by the enemy’s wickedness. They seem to be friendly but when they become aware of what you did to be successful they will do the same. Consequently they can, for example, steal your client, seduce your spouse or spread false rumors about you. Do not open the door of your heart, because these individuals will enter and steal your secrets, causing you damage.

The downfall takes place because phony friends and people motivated by envy and greed do not measure the consequences of their actions. What the Lord gives you is yours. He who seeks the Most High will also be awarded revelations, but the small mindedness that dominates many people makes them be envious and as a result they have no qualms in cheating or committing worse acts since personal satisfaction is what matters to them.

Avoid those that are driven by petty interests because they do not fear the Lord. You can, at most, convey the divine message to them. However, let the work be done by the Spirit of God. Do not forget that the Father answers prayers!

In Christ with love,

R. R. Soares
