06/05/2014 - FREE YOURSELF FROM THE AFFLICTION

“I am exceedingly afflicted; Revive me, O LORD, according to Your word.” Psalm 119.107

One of the most significant victories for the enemy, in a person’s life, is to make the person anxious, for that makes the person’s soul be in distress. Thereby, not having control of what happens to you, makes your soul opened to the master of deception’s harmful actions. One who is afflicted doesn’t think straight, isn’t able to meditate on what God says and doesn’t pray how they should. That’s because the affliction leads the person to an unreasonable sorrow, in which the person knows that he/she needs to do something but doesn’t know what to do.

The psalmist said he was greatly troubled, which means he was in a state of mind in which he could not control himself, and that’s not good. Whoever lives in such state of mind can leave home or commit something wrong and sad. So if your soul is afflicted by not getting something or by feeling that you need to do something and can’t, the solution is to turn to God’s Word and let the Lord tell you about the solution to this evil.   

Whoever is very afflicted needs that the Father enlivens you, for only then you will make it out of the enemy’s hands. God enlivens through His Word. For me, the reason that He put this Psalm in the Bible is for that whoever is afflicted will be able to know that if you pray and ask for deliverance, you will reach it. However, notice that the Almighty does everything through His Word. Therefore, ask for God’s help and read a Psalm or a chapter of the gospels.

A person can become weak in mind, just like the one who is body weak, and so the symptoms appear. There are many individuals whose problem is not physical, although the person is suffering from a physical illness. That is because, when the root of a problem is in the soul, an illness in a part of the body might and can appear. In fact, the state of a person’s soul is often measured by what happens to the physical. Therefore, take care of your interior so that exterior can be healthy.

If you think something is not good or needs improvement, pray about it and don’t think about it all the time. Those who think that something bad can happen to them are opening a door to a lot of opportunistic evils to manifest in their body. However, the human’s heart was not made to be under so much pressure. The affliction usually affects, directly or indirectly, the person’s health.

Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him (Psalm 37.5). This is one of the best attitudes you can have. Do not be anxious for anything, do not be afflicted because of something that did not work out, nor be fooled by the enemy’s lies. Be firm and constant in what God reveals to you. When you believe what the Word says, you can break free from the enemy’s threats. Jesus left us His peace, and no one can take it away from those who believe (John 14:27).
