You are My friends if you do whatever I command you.    John 15.14

It is almost incredible that the Lord, the divinity himself who created all things, actually offers Himself to be our Friend. This is too good to be true, isn’t it? However, in fact, He truly proposed to be our Friend; thus, we receive the greatest blessing after salvation. With His friendship, we will never lose one single battle and at the same time, we will please Him in all things. 

When the Bible says that only the Lord is God (Deut 4:39), it is not making a cheap propaganda of the Creator, but showing that the Author of Life is perfect in all aspects, including kindness. Nothing will lack in your life once you have won His friendship. Now, if you think you have fulfilled the commandments, but your life does not improve, there is still one commandment left for you to follow; not give any place to the devil (Eph 4:27). 

A friend is a special person who, without a doubt, we would like to find amongst our fellowmen. However, the reality is that this task has become impossible. The friend is someone who loves with no further interest, and even if we have exceeded ourselves in something, they don’t take that in consideration, but, with love, they lead us to good sense. A friend never betrays, disappoints or does us any harm. 

The conditions for us to enjoy the friendship of Christ are not hard to meet. When we fulfill what we were commanded, He begins to help us, in a sort of down payment of our inheritance. In no time, we receive many gifts. No price will be too expensive for us to enjoy of His friendship. Only someone very special like the Lord would make us His friends. 

Another fact we must be aware is that Jesus would never command something impossible or that would not provide us blessings. All commandments are simple and light to be obeyed. But be careful not to allow the enemy to interfere in your friendship with the Savior, by telling you that one of His commandments does not need to be answered; after all, if this happens, your loss will be great, for you will be putting an end to the best friendship you could ever have. 

When we execute the orders given by the Master, we discover that He goes before us, opening the way we must trail, with His footsteps. Then, why not believe in Him and allow Him to lead us where He wants to? Isaiah said that the Messiah, because He didn’t believe that His children would lie, was afflicted with their affliction, and because of that, He became their Savior (Isaiah 63:8-9).  Never lie, but do the work of the Lord! 

Those who become friends of the Son of God will never lose this title, unless they bring Him shame, running away from the battles. Therefore, it does not matter in what part of the battle your were placed; exert this position with all of the strength you have available, for Christ is found right where He determined You to be. He is waiting for you, and when the time for the combat comes, He will cover your head with His anointment. The Savior is amazing, isn’t that true?
