But Jesus answered and said to him, “Permit it to be so now, for thus it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he allowed Him.      Matthew 3:15

One of the most important things we can do is fulfill all righteousness of God. Those who do what the Word says, besides obeying the will of the Lord, they learn to be wise and intelligent, and thus, get rid of the traps set up by the enemy. Now, if they are not undone, when they least expect, the person will fall in one of them. Those who fulfill all righteousness are free to invoke the Lord and be answered.

John the Baptist – who came as a forerunner of Jesus (Luke 1) – lead many to repentance. Those who repented under his ministry were baptized in the waters, but, first, they have to publicly confess their sins. One day, he saw the Master coming near to be baptized and told Him that he would not baptize Him, because he wished to be baptized by the Lamb of God (Matthew 3:13,14).

Jesus´ answer was for him to baptize Him, for it was fitting for them to fulfill all righteousness (v.15). If you are certain that something is yours, don’t be in a rush to take hold of it. First, learn what the Scriptures say about that and wait for the Lord to give you the green light to fulfill the work. Even if you are full of reasons, it is not good to go ahead and do what you will be allowed to do one day. To wait for the heavenly move is of great importance.

There are many things to be left aside now, so that God´s righteousness is met. After all, we are cooperators of the Lord and, because of that, all that we do must come from Him. Besides, when the Lord does a work, it is certainly the best. Therefore, you don’t want to fulfill it with your capacity neither with the help of anybody else. With His action, what you are given will not fail.

Always give in to the teachings of the Bible, for you will be even more blessed. The Lord knows all things, therefore, when He orients us to accomplish or not a task, He gives us the best guidance. Not to follow the holy orientations of the Word is to walk in darkness, and those who do so will stumble on the many obstacles the enemy places to harm those who are saved in their journey.

John was wise when he refused to baptize the Master, but the Lord was wiser by giving us this very important lesson. This event was registered for our own good. It is not wise to fail to comply with any of the biblical requirements, for, if we do so, we will be considered as rebels. Given the importance of the precepts – after all, they were given for our benefit -, obey any of them, even if they are considered one of the least.

Allow God to teach you the Truth so that you can be delivered. Never fail to meet what He says, because those who already own something will receive more. However, those who despise the teachings of the Lord will lose even what they have. This is one of the most important moments for you to open up to the Father in prayer and make things right with Him. How about doing this now?

In Christ, with love,

Lord! We must learn with the teachings and examples left by Your Son, who came to save us and teach us to walk in the Truth. May we never miss one single lesson that You have allowed us to receive!

If Christ had to fulfill all righteousness, much more we, poor blind ones! After all, we don’t know how to discern between the left and the right hand. Help us to walk in the light and whenever necessary, we will answer with wisdom and intelligence. You are our light!

Show us everything we need to learn so we don’t let You down when we are going through trials and need to minister a word of faith and wisdom to people. They need to learn to fear Your Name and respect Your Word. Amen!
