Look, a people rises like a lioness, And lifts itself up like a lion; It shall not lie down until it devours the prey, And drinks the blood of the slain. Numbers 23:24

The saved have to learn not to be shy but to be brave in order to see and be supplied with their needs. If the Lord assures us that no gift will be denied to us, there is no reason to undergo or suffer want or lack, when we serve Him. We have to take up our position in Christ and carry out divine instructions, just like a lioness rises to provide food for her cubs. The truth is this: if we do nothing, we will have nothing.

God wants to see you rise and go with determination and steadfastness to seek for food. In the case of the mother lion, she goes out to hunt. There will be moments when she will need to use all her strength to catch and agile and spry prey. In other moments she will use her strength to bring down a dangerous and powerful prey. Nevertheless, she will persist because her purpose or mission is to feed her cubs and maintain them alive healthy and strong.  In very little time she will lead them and teach them how to hunt.

Another instance is that of the lion who rises up to face the enemy and attacks them fearlessly. Boldness – the absence of fear – must be the attitude of all those that are a part and a member of the body of Christ. In truth, the Christian need not fear and must be ready to accept the challenges that come to him and when a greater test or trial presents itself, the resulting outcome will be positively good.

The Lord’s promise is like a catch or a prey that the “Lord’s cub”, his son has to pursue without fear and when he does catch it, he will feed on it.  Those who stop during the chase, to rest or to sleep, lose what they were given. This does not please God. David, for example, chased his enemy and did not rest until he had overcome and defeated the enemy. This act is an image or symbol of what we must do today.

We must eat the flesh – to have the promise be assimilated in our interior.  Those who cross their arms to rest and allow the prey to get away, often times will never have another chance.  The farmland of the lazy is always full of weeds and thorns which result in nothing. Besides, it also lacks good and necessary things to feed, shelter and clothe one’s self and family. Wake up! God has already prepared the good works for us to walk in them.

Do not lay down to rest until the prey is caught and eaten. Seek God´s gifts and talents and honor Him with the results of your battle. About David, the Lord said He found in him a man according to His heart (1 Samuel 13:14). May the Father declare the same about your life! So, do not beg. It is more worthy and rewarding to go to battle and return with the promised results that God gave you. Believe this: God only and always wants the best for you.

It is necessary and recommendable to drink the blood of the catch which means or symbolizes being filled with the virtue of the gift given by the Lord. Don’t cease during battle, be quick to understand and grasp the divine intent. Once understood, embark on its fulfillment. This is like your homework, your sign of obedience. So do not accept anything less in terms of quality life, and instead, be prepared to serve and please God.

In Christ, with Love,

Lord, Lion of the tribe of Judah! Thank You that we are part of this tribe, close to the great players that honored You and today are in Your house. They will be rewarded forever and just like them, we will never cease to serve You.

Like the lioness, lift us up to seek the food for our young ones.  We will not stop until the prey has been caught and we have eaten of its flesh. We cannot lose heart or hope or let it escape. What You gave is ours!

That You may be glorified by this reader’s decision that now understands that the prey must be caught. You have endowed us and given all we need with respect to life and piety; our victory, therefore is secured. We need only to battle in the Name of Jesus!
