Assuredly, I say to you, you will by no means get out of there till you have paid the last penny. Matthew 5.26

The Lord acts with integrity in every sense, therefore, if we have wronged someone, we have to go after the person to reach an agreement while we are still on the way (Matthew 5.25). We must do likewise if we have any debts, for if we enter eternity owing something, we will surely go to eternal condemnation and we will not leave it until we have paid the last penny. However, how can we pay if there is no way to pay there?

The righteous Judge will not be complacent with anyone and say that their debt has been paid. He has paid the pardon to all who are in debt, but this remission will only be given to those who have transgressed when they make it right with the person against whom they have morally or financially wronged. Have you wronged anyone? Make it right so that you do not suffer the eternal consequences.

If the debt is only against the Lord, it will be forgiven through a sincere confession. If you have wronged someone, you need to go after the person you have wronged to make it right with him or her. Then you will be declared free. Because He is righteousness, the Most High will not tell the person who stole something from someone to forget about it, because it has been forgiven. You need to pay until the last penny; otherwise, the offender will not be cleansed of the guilt.

The same is true to the person who commits adultery. In our wedding vows, we promise to be faithful, to have respect, and to take care of each other in sickness or misfortune. However, the irresponsible person who, besides being unfaithful, brings to his or her family a child born outside of that wedlock, will have to gain pardon from the spouse who was dishonored. Read Proverbs 6.20-24.

According to the Scriptures, in the parable of the rich man and Lazarus (Luke 16.19-31), he who leaves without acquiring forgiveness will be lost forever and not even a finger will be moved to cool the tongue of the transgressor in his or her agony. Jesus did not say that Abraham instructed the rich to wait until he had done his time, as if it were temporary. The condemnation is eternal. In Judgment there will not be love, clemency or mercy.

Pardon can only be given in this life, here on earth. When rebuked, a sinner must accept the fact that he erred and bear fruits worthy of repentance to be forgiven (Matthew 3.8). If the same iniquity is committed again, he or she will have to confess it again. If the person has already confessed 489 times, he or she will be forgiven every time, but if in the last time the person thinks that no confession is needed for forgiveness, he or she will be condemned (Ezekiel 18.24).

What will you do? If you have wronged your employer or employee, spouse or any other person or organization, seek reconciliation not to find yourself condemned in the Day of Judgment. If you make things right while still on the way you will be declared innocent. Do not wait for the last minute to solve the issue.

In Christ, with love,

Merciful and true God! It is easy to acquire Your forgiveness today and the assurance that our inhabitance will be in Heaven. However, as we learn in Your Word, we have to seek reconciliation with the person against whom we have caused financial, physical or moral damage.

He who despises Your instructions should observe the verse we studied. In it we clearly read that there will be no escape from the eternal prison, until the last penny has been paid. However, how can that be done if Your love will not be operating in the eternal jail?

I pray, then, that you strengthen now this reader who has noticed how much suffering he or she will face if no reconciliation is made with the person whom was wronged. May they have the necessary courage to look for the person for forgiveness. This has to be done now, before it is too late.
