We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, the deeds You did in their days, in days of old: you drove out the nations with Your hand, but them You planted; You afflicted the peoples, and cast them out. For they did not gain possession of the land by their own sword, nor did their own arm save them; But it was Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, because You favored them.

Psalm 44:1-3

In biblical times the Israelites passed on from parents to children what the Lord had done to them. Reliving the acts of God brought to mind the wonderful works of the Almighty and enlivened those people’s faith. As for the children, if in future generations they needed help because of some tragedy or an evil attack, they would trust in the One who never fails.

The Lord wants to do in our days what He achieved in the past. He has no favorites (II Chronicles 19:7). When you look at how the Lord’s people got to obtain the divine operation – and if we do what our brothers did in the past – we get the same help given to them. In fact, everything that is recorded in the Scriptures is meant to instruct us.

Without God’s help we will be defeated when attacked by the forces of evil. Jesus came to give us life in abundance (John 10:10) but unfortunately, for many people, it never happened. There are Christians who are in need of everything but they do not attain the heavenly blessings even when they pray. Have we conveyed them the real Message? The only truth is that the Lord is faithful (II Corinthians 1:18a).

God’s people entered the Promised Land because when the exact moment presented itself the Most High drove out the nations that existed there. Our time came on the day Jesus died on the Calvary. We must follow the guidelines of the Scriptures because he who heeds what he is taught through the preaching of the Word and the reading of the Bible will receive faith and with it the necessary power to be victorious.

The divine hand, which we need so much working in our favor, is the same that acted in the lives of the children of Israel. If we conquer what the Bible states, we will have the power of the Most High fighting the war for us. As a matter of fact, the Lord will work in favor of those who put their trust in His Word. The work will be done neither by might nor by power, but by what the Holy Spirit speaks to your heart (Zechariah 4:6 b).

If you have accepted Jesus as your Savior, you have already been planted in the Land of the Promise – the Gospel. Then God will afflict the enemy and make you a winner. What He says He will do! So turn the Word into the goal of your life and you will see the Man of war fighting for you (Exodus 15:3). The right hand of the Lord, His strong arm and the light of His face will lead you to victory. Rejoice because God is pleased with you!

In Christ with Love,
