Though the LORD is on high, Yet He regards the lowly; But the proud He knows from afar. Psalm 138:6

Many people have never stopped to examine and consider the respect that the Lord has for the lowly and humble. This verse states that God pays special attention to these people. This says that if I want the eyes of the Most High to be upon me, to help and assist in my direction and victory, I must seek humility and wear it as a garment for my life. The opposite holds true as well, but as I want to be noticed and seen by Him, I know what I must do.

The advantage of having humility as a trait or characteristic is large, because according to the Word, those who have it will have honor. Now, if I desire God’s protection from the empire of darkness and its attacks, I must surrender and submit to divine will. In due time, when I need answer to prayer, I will be heard and helped. There is nothing worse than not being honored for our faith – not having our determination responded to.

When God sees us as lowly, were are on equal footing with Jesus, who had this trait (Matthew 11:29) Now, if I want to be like the Master, do as He did and with the same success as He, the only way is to come before the Father and seek His help.  Simplicity has to be your main goal before the Lord. This way you will not be visited by the demon of infidelity, of dishonesty or any other transgressions.

The purpose was to inform the daughter of Zion concerning the coming of her King, humble and seated upon a donkey, and a colt, the foal of a donkey. (Matthew 21:5). Notice that the Being that created all things, knows all things and will always be God came into this world in the most beautiful way possible: with absolutely no splendor. That said, why would I want to be seen in any other way since I have been called by Him to do His will and to exercise authority over demons?  Don’t I want to be honored?

The greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven is not the one who shouts, exhibits fancy clothing or flaunts his possessions, and promotes himself. In truth, many think they are greater before God, but when a problem comes up or an illness happens to them, they seek the Lord for a solution or healing which does not occur. Then they realize they are not so special. It is good to be humble as a child to be great in the Kingdom of Heaven. (Matthew 18:4)

Do not let pride enter your heart because it attracts offense, dishonor and other works of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21). The Most High knows the proud and the haughty from a distance, even though they strive to prove themselves otherwise in order to please Him. However, there are those who are not sober, because even though knowing the affirmation of the psalmist, they insist in walking contrary to the correct attitude that is expected of the children of God. This is why when they pray to be delivered, they do not find any response.

The Word says that the Lord has put down the mighty from their thrones (Luke 1:52), as they were lured by the lies of the enemy, they held no respect for others and even mocked the humble. This is why their pleas and cries were not answered, since they were not truly converted. It pays to be humble! Amen?

In Christ, with Love,

Father! Your Son said he was humble at heart and by this He could judge the mighty and the meek, rich and poor. Truth lies in You and all Your deeds are holy. Teach us to seek this virtue!

Even by being exalted, God, sovereign Lord in always, Christ was humility personified. If You make us like You, reborn in You, we will never be haughty or proud. Thank You for loving us.

We don’t want to be offensive, vain, haughty and bear any sign of being someone who does not love You. We long to be like You. You are our Shepherd, Savior and Lord. We are fulfilled in You. Amen!
