Until the time that his word came, the word of the LORD tried him. Psalm 105.19

There are some things that happen to us and we cannot find any explanation. Knowing that famine would devastate Canaan where Jacob and his children lived and that was necessary to spare them due to the Alliance made with Abraham, the Almighty had made Joseph to be sold as a slave. Would not have any other way to have this done without such a suffering for him? The answer is No.

Besides being God, all works of the Lord are perfect. If a human being decides to face Him or refuses to obey Him, he makes the worst stupidity because he is wasting his life. The Almighty decisions are always the best and more appropriate for us. That is why sending Joseph as a slave to Egypt was the best way to help His people.

Due to the need that would come upon Abraham’s descendents, God sent Joseph to Egypt who got captive in jail and had his feet bound with fetters. This situation lasted until the prophecy about him had been fulfilled and the Lord had tried him. We are rarely sent to without persecution and, in some cases, with so many trials. Some consolation is that the prophecy never fails.

When God finishes His servant’s trials, He makes them free from all oppression. It is good never to moan for, however, that was what the children of Israel did during their journey to Canaan, which displeased the Lord. Though suffering blameless, Joseph kept firmly and didn’t lose his faith. In despite of having gone through the worst situations, he could stand for the battle, and this can be an example for us.

Those who are tried by the Word of God and keep firmly before the temptation will be aware that there is no way not to have the prophecy about you fulfilled. Pharaoh not only had to release Joseph, but also made him master of his entire nation. The son of Jacob became the butler of everything Pharaoh possessed. Be faithful to the Lord during your trials and your day will also come.

That man who had been despised by his brothers and falsely accused by Potiphar’s wife now had all princes from the biggest nation of the world under his authority. He taught the elders of that nation about wisdom. There was none greater than he was in all of Egypt. In order to have all his people met during the famine, he had to go through all those trials.

Watch out because in order to save and preserve His children, the Father uses means that men don’t believe and the lost don’t accept it, but indeed are the best ways to get us prepared. Otherwise, we couldn’t be the instruments He wishes to handle. Thus, never moan or rise against the Lord; nor stop doing what you have been told to do.

In Christ, with love,

Wise and loving Father! Joseph knew You had called him to a great work, but he didn't know what he should do to be worthy of honoring You and fulfilling Your will. Like Jesus and because of what he suffered, he learned how to surrender himself to You and accomplish Your plan.

Help us, Father! We need to be patient to go through learning. As the best among the Masters, You know how to teach us. Do not let us rise against You and leave Your school. Undoubtedly, You never put Your eyes away from us so that we always honor You.

We want to be careful and not do anything that can hurt You. Our victory is certain, therefore, we cannot be influenced by other people’s pity and commiseration. In Your name, we will fulfill Your orders.
