For since the beginning of the world men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, nor has the eye seen any God besides You, who acts for the one who waits for Him. Isaiah 64.4

The Lord, our God, who created everything out of nothing, has an enormous pleasure in working for us. He made us in His image and likeness. Thus, we can see how the dream of His heart was enormous and very beautiful. When he made us similar to Him, the Most High had in mind to make special people. We were made in such a way, but Adam’s sin caused us the greatest loss.

The verse we are studying today talks that the Father works for those who wait for Him. It is so good to know so, for this information makes us believe that He has not given up on His dreams, and when this process is over, those who wait in Him will be forever what He had determined. It is just a matter of time, which will pass. Then, there will come the day when we have the complete work.

Everyone who has been enlightened with the divine Word must resist to the temptations. It is obvious that if we fall, but confess our sins, we will be forgiven (1 Jo 2.1,2). However, what will be the difference between those who fell and those who kept themselves holy? Will both enjoy of the same position and will have the same reward? In the parable of the workers of the vine, those who worked only for an hour received the same amount as those who worked all day (Mt 20.1-16). Does this apply in this context?

Will we be rewarded by what we did in regards to the divine commandments?  In fact, I have not been able to explain this through the Scriptures, but this declaration by Isaiah makes me ponder. He said: men have not heard nor perceived by the ear. For me, God mentions that everyone listens with the natural ear, but some notice with the ears of the heart. Being so, will the reward of the saved ones be the same for all?

Jesus spoke about the administration of cities, and said that for everyone that has been given much, much will be required (Luke 19.11-19). Besides, He confirmed that there are those who will sit at His right and His left (Mt 20.23; Mk 10.40). I think that the fact that God is working for those who wait for Him shows that the obedient will have a greater reward. Daniel affirmed that those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament, and those who turn many to righteousness like the stars forever and ever (Daniel 12.3).

Now, we know that the stars all differ in brightness. Therefore, may we make all effort to each accomplish our own mission. After we get to eternity, there will be no use asking for something better to happen to us. Observe well the fact that the Lord is working in favor of those who wait for Him. What do you say of this? What kind of work is He making for you who waits for Him? May He give you the understanding.

In Christ, with love,

Omnicient and good Lord! I do not know what means when You work in my favor, but I rejoice in learning that it is so. Since You know everything, I understand that the reward will be beautiful and special. Then, accept beforehand my “thank you very much!”

I pray that the reader might be a faithful executor of the mission that You have given him, for if he does so, he will be extremely rewarded. The tip that You give us is no ear has heard, no eye has seen, and no heart has felt what you have prepared for us.

You are beautiful, marvelous, and truly good, Father. This fills with joy the hearts of all who respect and obey Your orders. One day, we will give You all the praise, but before that day comes, keep us in Your love.
