I have gone astray like a lost sheep; Seek Your servant, For I do not forget Your commandments. Psalm 119.176

There are many people who have gone astray from the sheepfold of the Lord and if they don’t come back in time, they will be food to the wild animals. The psalmist compared himself to a sheep that left the flock and gave in to the deceits of the world. Without the protection of the shepherd, he would not be lead to the green pastures nor quiet waters, where he would be safe. It is very sad to act like a fool or lacking wisdom. 

You know when you go astray by the silence that comes to your heart regarding God. From one minute to the next it is as if the Lord did not exist. Then, while walking through several places of temptation, you no longer feel the desire to come back. But, when something bad happens to you, you try to talk to God to receive His help. However, as soon as your problem is solved, you distance yourself from God once again. In many cases, it is a path of no return. 

The wide door fools many people with its offers, for there is easy and false happiness. The pleasures are horrible, and when they reach bliss, a mixture of frustration and revolt takes over your interior, because you know you don’t belong to the world of perdition. Why insist and go beyond, if perhaps you might never come back? What happens to the sheep that goes too far if they don’t have the acumen, that other animals have, to come back to the Lord? 

It is not Worth to live with no communion with the Father, for the dreams are erased, the deception the world offers kills any virtue, and you begin to live as if your earthly life would last forever. Actually, what is eternal – your soul – does not concern you anymore, and all you want is to delight in the ways of perdition. The good thing is that God does not give up on us. Thus, we can hear the divine voice and go back to the holy sheepfold. 

It´s time to ask Him to rescue us, because we don’t even know how to go back home. Many people have felt the presence of God and loved to be in the house of the Father, but today they don’t feel it anymore and walk lonely and lost, and don’t know how to go back. So then, the prayer for the Father to seek them, find them and lead them back to His sheepfold is very important. If you need love and constant protection, then you must pray. 

The reason why the Lord goes after you is because you did not forget His commandments. Thus, there is a connection between you and Him. The truth is that you should have never tasted the oblations of the world, and failed to answer the invitation of the Father which would have given you a lot more in His presence. However, if you really want to come back, come close to God as you are, for this desire is the proof that the Most High has already found you. 

In the house of the Father the celebration continues, but with commitment. With Him, you are free from the predators, those who would destroy you. You cannot be hit by the enemy’s arrows if you are in the Shepherd´s lap. Can you hear the divine voice saying that you are His and that no evil will befall you and no plague will come near your dwelling?
