Also in the third year of his reign he sent his leaders, Ben-Hail, Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethanel, and Michaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah. 2 Chronicles 17:7

Jehoshaphat knew what had happened to his great-great-grandfather, Rehoboam, who had not prepared himself to serve the Lord and was a pitiful and sorry king (in his days there occurred Jeroboam’s revolt which separated ten of the twelve tribes of David). Knowing the outcome of the rebellion – the people now without God, surrendered themselves to demons – Jehoshaphat sent his princes to teach the Truth to the people.

By sending the experienced teachers to indoctrinate the will of God on the people, Jehoshaphat did right which pleased the Lord greatly. They took the book of Law because they couldn’t misinterpret or fall short in what is written in the Word and be successful in their mission. Many Levites accompanied the princes which sparked a truly great revival in Judah. The heavenly answer to this mission came soon after.

God blessed Jehoshaphat in such a way that all the surrounding kingdoms ceased all provocations and all acts of war were no longer dared. To the contrary, some Philistines not only paid tribute but also took him gifts. The spiritual awakening in Judah made the adversaries and enemies keep peach with him and the tax payers and citizens were overjoyed to have him as their ruler. The Lord performs unbelievable wonders for his children.

The Arabs, on the other hand, felt so at ease that they would give him their herds of sheep and goats: 7,700 sheep and 7,700 goats (V.11) This result increased the greatness of the king (V.12) If God’s children would learn to obey and to serve the Most High, in very little time a true revival from the Omniscient would erupt in their midst; and they would become even greater too. The Lord does not want His own to live in scarceness, poverty or with problems of any sort.

How wonderful it would be if God were the Lord of all nations. There would be peace instead of war; prosperity and not misery. Besides, instead of child and adult abuse there would be a beautiful and saintly development of the little ones in innocence; this way, families would live well. Wouldn’t this be Heaven on Earth? This is exactly what the Father wants to do. This is why Jesus suffered for our sins and pains. Halleluiah!

You should start out by delivering your family, learning and observing the Most High´s commands. Thus, you will be loved by the Father and the Son and others will notice and follow your example. The transformation we would like to see in others must first begin in us, because the Lord does not use dirty vessels or anyone contaminated by sin. Prepare yourself today so that He can perform wonders in your life tomorrow. 

Who ever imagined the eternal enemies of the people of God sending presents along with their taxes? If the Arabs sent sheep and goats for the chosen people’s feast, it is hard to imagine what the Almighty will do in your life if you remain faithful!
