O Timothy! Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge.  1 Timothy 6.20

Paul, the apostle, wanted that Timothy, his child in the faith, learned how to take guard, fulfilling the commandments and becoming a blessing to all. In the book of Revelation, the Lord said that he who does not guard what was given to them may have his crown taken by another (Rev 3.11). I would never like to have what was given to me to be in another person’s hands. I want to do what was ordered to me, and in the last Day, receive the crown that He, the righteous Judge, will give me.

It is true that the gifts are irrevocable, but those who despise them may lose their reward. In truth, I have seen this happen a couple of times. In 1975, in the city of Nova Iguaçu (RJ), I ordered a man with more than 60 years, who used a cane for many years, to leave it and walk. He was healed instantly, but some days later, he went back to use the cane, for he did not guard what God had given him.

The Lord does not waste the bread and fish that he multiplies, nor does he waste the capacity that he gives us to do His work. Undoubtedly, we will be accountable for the talents that we receive and must multiply. Therefore, we must respect the tools – the revelations of the Word – given to us by God. These weapons are extremely necessary in the battle against the forces of evil.

No Christian can befriend false science. Why would someone let the accumulation of knowledge be his master? Whoever does so will taste defeat in all the battles that he faces. He who created all things and called them to existence knows also how to make our light shine. Those who do not walk astray from the Word will determine whatever they want; for Jesus guaranteed that He will do the work.

Our attitude regarding the clamors of science must be one of horror, for its weapons used against our faith are lethal, prepared by Hell to take our people away from eternal life. With its lies, the devil has managed to raise many people for his side, the one of eternal defeat. It is necessary not to forget that we are at war against the abilities of Satan. Those who run away from this war will not go unpunished.

These clamors are vain, for they operate nothing good for those who listen to them. The worst stupidity that a Christian can do is to leave the Stream of living waters and dig broken cisterns that can hold no water (Jr 2.13). It is important to be attentive to what the Lord says in His Word, without ever faltering. The truth is that our battle is already won, and that the things that God has deposited on us are everything we need to be victorious in the battles of live.

The certainties of the false science are mortal ideas that the enemy sends his subjects to corrupt the more unwarned people. Be always watchful, for he will try to walk you astray from the holy Way. If you give him attention, you will not be able to use your right in Christ. Faith in Jesus works well when we are in communion with the Lord.

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares

Omniscient God! How the devil has deceived many people, leading them to believe in his lies and despising the Truth. However, those who belong to You are alike Timothy, who was orientated to behave firmly in the faith so that he would not be led by the evil one.

Teach us to care about ourselves and Your people. With Your help, we will be a blessing for all. May we never despise what has been deposited for us; therefore, we will not lose our crown. We do not want to waste Your grace.

Fill us with Your wisdom so that we may not fall in the tales of false science, in which people stop walking with You and start talking in a bad way. We do not want to be led to eternal defeat. With Your help, we will always be victorious.
